My eyes fluttered open as the sunlight crept in my room.
I got up as i heard a call from Kanmai-san.
Hurrying downstairs i caught a glimpse of a sheathed katana in the living room.
"Yes Kanmai-san?" I asked as i stopped next to her in the kitchen.
"Y/n i need u to go outside and get the vegetables outside for me will u do that?" She asked while cutting some ham.
"Ofc what will it be?"
"Hmm some tomatoes and lettuce pls?"
"Sure!"
I ran outside with a basket in hand. Kanmai-san's house wasn't too big with 3 rooms and 2 bathrooms in it. And a huge backyard too.
As i plucked some of the veggies i noticed a really pretty flower near a bush.
I went near it and pulled it out.
"Kanmai-san! I found something!" I called as i raced inside with the items
"Hm? Oh its a spider lilly dear" she told me as i handed it to her.
"U can have it as a thanks for taking care of me"i said as i placed it near her ear.
"Aw thank u"
After breakfast i and Kanmai-san sat in the livingroom facing each other as she explained about the demon slayer corps.
"U see im apart of it and i wont be able to be for long since i have an illness that causes people to die in an early age,and i....id like u to take over my role but before that i want ur opinion y/n" kanmai said as she stared at the h/c haired girl.
"I....ill do it i want to avenge my family's death" the said girl told as a shadow casted over her eyes.
But she looked up at the woman again with a determine smile.
"Great,now u must learn to overcome fear and learn how to use a sword" She got up and headed into a room and came out with a wooden sword.
U both went outside and trained on how to swing it until nightfall. .

The next day u trained on ur speed and agility then on ur strength.
Just like that u learned many things.
Soon days turned into weeks and months into years.
And now u were sitting in the livingroom just like how u did before u started.
"Dear y/n id like u to have this it carries a breathing style like no other" Kanmai handed u a katana with a sheath that had a dragon printed on it.
"R-really are u sure miss kanmai" u asked flustered from the gift u got "Yes although u will get ur own katana when u join the demon slayer corps i want u to use this since the others wont carry the same breathing style" she sighed out exhausted.
"Yes miss kanmai" u took the katana in hand and looked at it clearer.
It looked quite unused and was pretty clean too so u unsheathed it but as soon as u touched the handle of the sword it changed its colour.

U looked at it amazed and quite surprised.
Finally it was time for the final selection.
U were quite nervous but also determined to make it.
"Y/n i wish u best of luck, pls come back i dont want to lose another" kanmai said as she patted my head.
"Yes Kanmai-san ill surely pass" i flashed her a smile.
As i walked towards the final selection..i could feel her stare on my back so i turned around and gave her a short wave before dashing towards my destiny.

Important announcement I wont be updating next week since i have practice exams but ill start again as soon as were done :)
