Eliza's POV:
I have never been the type of person to try to grab the spotlight. I mean, I knew I was popular, but I tried not to let it become my entire personality (like someone I know...).
I tried to be humble as I talked to my sister at the school dance. So far, it was just me and her, talking about whatever gossip was going around. Everyone was either talking, dancing, or stocking up on the juice boxes that were on display. It wasn't until I took a quick glance around the room, and found Alexander talking with his buddies.
When I tell you my heart went 'BOOOOOOM!'...
I tried not to think about him too much. Alexander was just this smart immigrant that had a big ego. But for some reason I kept finding myself glancing over at him. I guess Angie could see how I was looking at Alexander, because she whispered in my ear.
"Who are you looking at?" Angelica whispered.
"I think I like that 'Alexander' kid..." I whisper back, trying to hide my blush.
At first, Angie gave me a weird look. But, that look turned into a reassuring one. Suddenly, I saw Angelica make her way up to Alexander. My heart started beating faster, I had no idea what she was about to do...
I saw Angie talk to him for a few seconds, and then grabbing his arm, pulling him towards my direction. I don't think I've been more embarrassed in my entire life.
"Where are you taking me?" I could hear Alexander ask.
"I'm about to change your life..." Angelica said to Alexander while smiling.
"Oh, go ahead then..." Alexander said with a hint to awkwardness in his voice.
When Angelica and Alexander walked up to me, I did a curtsy because my father said it was polite to do that whenever meeting a man.
I saw Alexander smile. That's when I know Angelica's plan was working (Thanks Angie!)
It's been about a week since the school dance, and Alexander has been spending more time with me than my own sisters! He would put a letter on my table every day, and it was always written in crayon. One day, he put a letter on my desk and it said... "How abawt I go to your howse tonite?" And it was written in pink crayon. My face turned as pink as the color of the crayon.
I didn't know if I wanted Alexander to come over. My father didn't allow Angie to bring boys over, so I didn't know how he was going to react with Alexander. But, I didn't want to hurt Alexander's feelings, so I replied with "K."
After school ended, me and Alexander walked home together. Angelica was going to walk with us, but she said we were going too slow. When we got home, the first person to run towards us was Peggy. Her face had some type of food on it, and her dress was inside-out.
I quickly told Peggy to go help mother with dinne, and pushed her away. Me and Alexander went to my room (with the door open, of course). We talked about school and stuff like that until supper was ready. I took Alexander's hand and we walked downstairs like we were married.
When we got to the dinner table, Angie and Peggy were already there, sitting across from me. I could see our mother in the kitchen, putting our food on our plates. Suddenly, I saw my father come downstairs. I was literally sweating as I thought about the possibilities.
When my father saw Alexander, he immediately stared at him. I couldn't tell if it was a good stare, or a bad stare. I could see him signal for Alexander come with him, and they both went into his office. I could see the scared look on his face as he walked with my father.
As they talk, I could see Peggy staring at Alexander with awe. Someone please remind me to fix her dress after supper...
After a few minutes, Alexander and my father came out of his office. Alexander had a wide smile on his face, and I could tell that my father was happy with him as well.
