January had brought a fresh blanket of snow to Hogwarts, the castle grounds shimmering under the weak winter sun. Juliet walked happily through the hallways, her breath visible in the frosty air. She was on her way to her favorite class, Transfiguration class, her mind still buzzing with the excitement of the Christmas break.

As Juliet entered the Transfiguration classroom, she took her usual seat beside Elizabeth, who had just returned from her Christmas holidays in France. Padma sat a row behind them next to a Slytherin girl named Daphne Greengrass.

"France was divine like usual," Elizabeth told them dreamily, her voice tinged with a hint of snobbery. "I brought back the most exquisite chocolates for you both. Handmade by goblins of course."

"Who cares who made it? French chocolate is bloody delicious." Padma stated, throwing one chocolate into her mouth.

"These are quite tasty, Lizzie. We missed you terribly over the holidays." smiled Juliet.

The classroom quickly filled with Ravenclaws and Slytherins, the atmosphere tense with the usual undercurrent of inter-house rivalry. Professor McGonagall, her expression stern as ever, began the lesson without delay.

"Today, we will continue our work on needle-to-parchment transfigurations. Focus on precision and control," McGonagall instructed, her eyes scanning the room.

Juliet listened intently, her wand ready as McGonagall demonstrated the spell. The classroom fell silent as students paired up to practice. Juliet turned to Elizabeth, ready to begin the exercise.

Within minutes, Juliet was the first in class to been able to successfully u
turn the needle into a piece of parchment. Juliet felt her cheeks grin as McGonagall claimed her attempt was 'advanced'.

"Nice job, Julie." said Padma, nudging the girl. "Always the best in class aren't you?"

"Merlin, Snape's a real suck-up to McGonagall isn't she?" whispered a Slytherin girl with dark hair, standing a few feet away from Juliet and her friends. Juliet turned to see it was Pansy Parkinson. Juliet hadn't really ever spoken or interacted with any Slytherins other than Draco and his little friend group. But Pansy did not know Juliet and assumed she was a know-it-all, anyone would of course.

"Ugh I can't stand these Ravenclaws, they're terribly boring. Especially Snape." whispered back Millicent Bullstrode.

Elizabeth seemed to have heard the Slytherin girls as well. The blonde suddenly cleared her throat and spoke loudly, "Oh Juliet, the poor Slytherins are struggling with the spell. It's obvious they lack any sense of logic."

Juliet's eyes widened as Padma looked slightly confused.

Juliet tugged on Elizabeth's sleeve. "What are you doing? Everyone can hear you!"

"Exactly." stated Elizabeth with her arms crossed, looking directly at Pansy with a deadly glare.

Pansy smirked, as she along with her friends, Daphne and Millicent, strolled over to the Ravenclaw girls.
