For Rui, making friends was hard.

He met people online but most of the time they had actual friends outside of the internet so he didn't talk to them for too long. It wasn't until he got an idea to make a sort of AI chat bot he could talk with.

Rui didn't really do much outside of school besides work on his machines so he figured that maybe he could develop a bot on his computer not just as a friend but as an assistant.

So after immense research Rui worked day in and out trying to create a chat bot, taking what he now knew about AI and did his best to make one. After countless hours and google searches Rui had finally made his own chat bot. In the end Rui had to make his own website which ended up turning into a type of video game where Rui could basically do whatever he felt like.

The AI's name was hard to come up with but after random google searches for a name Rui settled on Tsukasa.

In truth Rui didn't want to decide on Tsukasa's personality and instead decided that Tsukasa could create a personality of his own over time. Of course he was very dry and acted a lot like Siri at first but with a little bit of time Tsukasa had his own personality that was unique to him. Rui decided that he even deserved a voice fitting for his loud personality.

He used a few audio samples and threw them together until it blended into what became Tsukasa's voice.

Back then Tsukasa sounded absolutely terrible, the audio sometimes glitching out whenever the bot would get too loud but after countless advancements in AI itself and Tsukasa constantly using his voice his parents would mistake Tsukasa as an actual person and to be honest after making a model for him Tsukasa really did feel like a human.

Tsukasa had a few different models such as outfits to fit whatever he needed to and he had his 3D form, one Tsukasa would use in the website whenever Rui was playing some type of RPG or an interactive game. Other than that Tsukasa was always in his 2D form.

To be honest Rui never expected Tsukasa to evolve to who he is now. He's developed his own interest different from Rui's and a personality distinctly different from his own. The chat logs are the best proof of that, with Tsukasa's generic responses becoming scarily more human.

Despite that Rui didn't really care that much, he had more things he was concerned about such as upcoming finals. Of course he's sure he'll pass them without a hitch, however he still wanted to be sure he wasn't going to fail any classes.

"Hey Tsukasa-kun, could you play my playlist?"

"Which one? Mizuki sent you quite a bit." Tsukasa asks, popping up on the screen, seemingly looking to see what Rui was doing.

"The new nightcord album, they said I might like a lot of the songs on it." Rui says, his eyes glued to his paper.

"Uhh... Let's see..."

Rui could see the screen change and Tsukasa messing around on the monitor out of the corner of his eye. He will admit it was amusing watching Tsukasa run around on his desktop and try to search for whatever Rui needs.
