Remember, while this is discontinued, I wanted to provide a headcanon format of what I had originally planned on writing. This way you can see how they connected to Brook's piece. I'll continue to upload them in groupings. This will give everyone a total of 7 groups covering all 31 entries.

Brook's "Rumbar Rumba"

- Brook's piece is actually the only one posted so this is a recap:

- In present day Brook has a broken down slinky that strolled him down memory lane

- He used the slinky in its prime to teach Laboon conducting and musical composition

- Laboon composed the "Rumbar Rumba" which the Rumbar Pirates performed

Monkey D. Luffy

- Wanting to cheer up a seemingly sad ship's musician, his musician that he's wanted since day one of setting off to be a pirate, he decided to give Brook a laugh

- Brook had described a slinky as being like Luffy, a bendy object that stretches and bounces just as Luffy does

- Luffy remembered Brook saying that it was a tightly coiled spring and he remembered fighting Bellamy who had spring legs

- Luffy experiemented with spring legs but that wasn't good enough

- Spring arms—while it makes for a powerful gum gum bazooka, it doesn't make for a good laugh

- Eventually Luffy coils his torso while also coiling legs and arms in different direction

- It definitely made Brook laugh...as the others dodged for cover as parts of Luffy bounced and ricocheted in every possible direction

Nami

- Nami had far more sense than her captain

- There is no way she's letting Luffy slinky himself ever again

- Next time the crew put in to port, she scoured every store on the island until she found a decent toy shop

- She bought one of every kind of slinky they had

- Now everyone on the crew has a slinky of their own

Sanji

- Sanji liked the idea that Luffy had just not the execution of it

- Decides to prepare a feast with Brook as the guest of honor

- Every single dish has either a bouncy quality to it or a stretchy quality to it

- Thanks to Nami's slinky spree, he was able to decorate cakes ad things with slinkies too

- The rumbar jello cake went over extremely well with everyone

Nico Robin

- Being so calm and collected, Robin opted for a less involved approach to cheering Brook up

- First, she had a nice chat with him where she slipped in a few questions to figure out the importance of the slinky

- It was a good thing she did too

- Brook offered to play the melody for her to the best of his memory

- There were some bumps along the way, it's been 5 decades since he's heard it

- Robin being the scholar that she is, set out at the next port to locate either a library or music historian

- She found neither

- Eventually the Strawhats put to port in a city and Robin was able to find a musician's guild with an extensive musical library

- The guild librarian was most useful and the two of them managed to track down a manuscript of the Rumbar Rumba

- After transcribing a copy, Robin was able to present the copy to Brook

- After much crying, Brook put on a performance for the whole crew

- Everyone cried (even Zoro but he'll deny it)

Roronoa Zoro

- Zoro wasn't going to get involved in the slinky festivities

- His areas of expertise have always been training, fighting, napping

- None of those share qualities with a slinky

- Stupid swirly brows on the other hand...

- Zoro took great pleasure in tripping the playboy chef right down the stairs

- Not the same as pushing a slinky down but it still managed to bring a smile to Zoro's face

Tony Tony Chopper

- There is no medicine for a slinky or a grieving heart

- And that is truly frustrating for a doctor

- While patching up Sanji from his "accident" on the stairs he got a different idea

- Asking Brook if he could examine the slinky, he took it carefully into the infirmary

- While everyone else was partaking in shenanigans, Chopper dedicated several hours to cleaning every inch of the slinky himself

- By the end, it was still warped and twisted but it finally shone as though it were brand new and the twists were meant to be there

Usopp

- Chopper sheepishly brought the toy to Usopp after having cleaned it

- He wanted a second opinion on its shininess

- And he needed validation in knowing that he had done something that would make Brook smile

- Usopp was amazed at how clean and shiny the toy was

- A far cry from the dirty, rusty, sad state it had previously been in

- After convincing Chopper to be quiet and leave the slinky with him, Usopp put his scheme into motion

- Brook spent the better part of a week trying to locate his slinky

- Chopper swore up one side and down the other that he had returned the slinky to its rightful owner

- But that Brook must have been so inebriated from the feast and hijinks he just couldn't remember where he himself had placed it

- Chopper isn't known for keeping a straight face very well so he must be telling the truth!

- Chopper hid in the infirmary for that entire week, the secret and lie giving him indigestion

- He trusted Usopp knew what he was doing but why'd he have to make Chopper the accomplice?!

- Usopp finally emerges from his workshop and gather everyone round to admire what the great Captain Usopp has done

- He proudly presented to Brook, a pristine slinky

- Brook thanked him but tried to explain that it just isn't the same as having his slinky

- Usopp's grin couldn't get any wider, but that is his slinky

- Chopper cleaned it for hours and Usopp has been cooped up in his workshop repairing it

- It should be good as new!

- Who knew a skeleton could weep that much?
