As it wasn't really a surprise, it neither took a lot of time nor effort for the mice to clear the way for the relief trucks, and Throttle looked over his shoulder.
"Hey, we're doing it, bros! The relief trucks are getting through."
"Yeah, Merry Christmas to all and to all and..."
Modo suddenly trailed off when a shadow fell over him, and he looked up.
His heart skipped a few beats when he saw a rather large hailstone coming straight at him.
"...good night... ", he squeaked, and he quickly ducked.
The big piece of ice missed him by only a hair and landed behind him with a loud bang.
Shortly after that, all hell broke loose.
Hailstones as big as bowling balls rained down, and even the skilled Martians were having a hard time avoiding them.
Throttle looked ahead, only to see the building that served as the local orphanage had already taken much damage.
"Oh man, we better start blitzing, bros..."

As if on cue, the faint sounds of kids screaming in fear made it to their ears, and Modo revved his bike, utterly alarmed.
"These kids are in trouble!"
"You said it, bro. We've gotta do something ", Throttle agreed, obviously, also revving his engine.
"Or we all gonna get our sockings stuffed", Vinnie added darkly, still using every skill he owned to avoid being crushed by the big hail stones.
Modo shook his head in both frustration and confusion.
"This weather ain't natural. Even I know that."
Vinnie nodded in agreement, also slightly annoyed.
"Yeah, must be some sort of trap."
"Well, in that case, let's make it a trap sheet, bros ", and Throttle whipped his gun out of his leg holster before pushing a button on his helmet.
"Follow me!"

Using his visor to lock the target, shooting the big chunks of ice suddenly became child's play, and before they knew it, they made it inside the building.
Without even really stopping, they all three grabbed the kids and sped outside again, which was just in time because the whole building collapsed after getting hit by another piece of ice.
They eventually stopped in a tunnel close by, watching the building crumble into dust in total silence with the kids still on their bikes.
"Whoa... Looks like the storm is over ", Vinnie eventually broke the silence, and he was right.
It was still cold and windy, but the hailstorm had passed.
"For now... ", Throttle mumbled, gazing up at the sky.
Modo glanced at the kids they just rescued with concern written upon his face.
"You little tikes okay?"
The one that was still sitting on the headlight of his bike answered.
She was just a little girl, about ten years old and only wearing pajamas.
"Yeah, we're okay, but our house is all smashed down... ", she said with a small voice, shivering in the cold as a tear trickled down her cheek.
"And it's almost Christmas..."

Modo, known for having a soft spot for children, couldn't stop a tear from escaping his eye as well as he soothingly rested his hand on the child's head for a brief moment to comfort her.
Those poor kids.
They didn't deserve this, not even the slightest.
They had already suffered so much, and now, all that they had left, was gone.
"Hey, easy big fella", Throttle said soothingly when he saw how deeply touched Modo was by all this, and he patted him on the back as he looked at the kids.
"We'll fix this... somehow... "
He then glanced back up at the sky.
"Ya know, I've got a feeling this storm was no accident..."
Still having a kid sitting on his shoulders, Vinnie used his visor to zoom in on Limburger Plaza, and a soft growl escaped his lips.
"I'd say you're right. The big cheese is making sure his toes stay toasty."
His bros quickly followed his gaze, using their helmets as well, and immediately understood what Vinnie was getting at.
There was not a cloud in the sky in a two-mile radius around the tower, and the sun was shining its merry way.

"He must have found a way to control the weather", Modo said, his voice still a little thick due to his earlier emotions.
Throttle sighed.
"Ah man, I knew this whole setup had been a trap."
It was then that Vinnie had it.
"Come on. Something fat, smelly, and uuugly is gonna pay for this", he growled while gently putting the kids on his bike back on their feet, knowing the first responders they just helped get through would take care of them.
Throttle glanced at him, feeling the same anger his white-furred companion now radiated.
"Ooh, you said a mouth full, Vincent. Let's ROCK..."
"...and RIDE!"
