Lee Daeun
I take a deep breath as we approach the bar. The bartender doesn't seem to notice us at first, as he's too busy taking a shot himself.
We both take a seat on the barstools, leaning our elbows on the counter.
"what are you having?" Wooyoung asks. Good question, what am I having? Red wine sounded nice, but now I'm thinking...
"Shot of soju," I reply. He nods, and the bartender finally pulls his attention away from his shot glass.
His gaze meets mine. He has pretty eyes, they're dark brown to be exact. He's even hotter up close, and I can feel the heat rising from my neck. His eyes move from my face down to my chest, then to my stomach. I follow his gaze, looking to see if there's anything on my dress.
There's not.
When I look back up, he's looking at Wooyoung.
"Hello," Wooyoung says. I gulp and put a hand on his arm. The man glances at Wooyoung, then at me, then breaks into a smile.
"hello," god, even his voice is sexy. This man is literally art. "what can I get you guys?"
"Uhm, we'll have two shots of soju, for now," He replies with. For now? Does that mean he's planning on getting more? Someone has to drive home. Maybe I'll lay low.
"Yessir," the man replies with. As if completely oblivious to my boyfriend's existence, he sends a wink in my direction.
Wooyoung doesn't seem to notice, but I definitely do. My cheeks are already turning pink as the man turns around and begins to pour out the shots.
"do you want to pay now, or shall I add it up after?" the man turns back to us, holding the two shots.
"add it up later," Wooyoung says, passing me a shot glass. The bartender goes back to minding his own business, and I genuinely can't tell if he's listening to us talk or not.
"On three," Wooyoung steals my attention. "three, two one." we lift our glasses to our lips at the same time. The soju slides down my throat, and I taste that familiar yet burning taste in my mouth.
"Another?" he asks.
"Someone needs to drive home," I point out. He nods. "i'll drive. knock yourself out."
"I'll have one more," he murmurs. "Hey." The bartender looks up immediately.
"another one?" he asks. I can't help but notice his teasing and charming tone. Wooyoung nods.
"Just one," he says. The bartender - god I really wish I knew his name - got to work, quickly pouring a shot.
He passes it to Wooyoung, but his eyes are on me. He's analysing my face, and is it hot in here or is it hot in here? His eyes travel to my lips, and I see him stick out his tongue slightly, in the sexiest way possible.
That tongue...
Daeun, stop.
He meets my gaze, and raises his eyebrows slightly. I furrow my own, slightly confused as to why he's so obviously checking me out in front of my boyfriend. Maybe he isn't checking me out, maybe he's judging me.
This is mortifyingly embarrassing.
"Right, the check," Wooyoung said, taking his card out.
"we only take cash," the man interrupts. Wooyoung blinks.
"i don't have cash."
"well uhm..."
"Do you want me to throw it up or something?" Wooyoung scoffs, and I give a snort of laughter.
"I have cash," I say, taking out my purse. Wooyoung's eyes widen as his eyes scan the cash in my purse.
Okay, maybe my job has quite a huge pay check.
"How much?" I ask. He tells me the price, but I slide him a bit extra. "a tip." i say.
"thank you very much, ma'am," he sends me another subtle wink, this time one that Wooyoung does see. Wooyoung beckons his head towards the door, and together we make our way back to the car.
"I'm not too tipsy, I can drive," Wooyoung says.
"no, I don't want to take any risks," i reply. Wooyoung can't handle his alcohol great. Before he can protest, i slide into the drivers seat.
"Keys?"
He tosses them to me. Swiftly, I catch them and slide them into the keyhole. I switch the engine on and sigh.
"right, are you staying over at mine tonight?" i ask. It's our anniversary, of course he's staying over.
"if you'll let me?" he says.
"of course," i reply. of course, i do love it when he stays over.
The drive home is quiet, but neither of us seem to mind. There isn't a lot of traffic, maybe because people are too busy getting wasted.
I can't stop thinking about the bartender. It isn't common that bartender's around here are actually hot, but oh lord, he was and still is the finest man I have ever laid my eyes on. If I wasn't dating Wooyoung, I would've tried to seduce him right then and there.
stop, you have a boyfriend. Other men aren't relevant.
Still, I can't keep my mind off the thought of him. His lips. I can't keep the thought of his lips pressed against of mine as he leads me into a private room...
stop it right now.
He had turned me on so badly, it's painful. The thought of me not ever seeing him again hurt. Why? Why is that fair?
because you have a boyfriend.
Great, now I'm comparing Wooyoung to that guy. Wooyoung was good in bed, but that guy had made me wonder whether he himself was.
Eventually, I pull up in the carpark of my apartment complex. Wooyoung takes my hand as we walk up to the door.
"Ready baby?" he asks as I fumble with the keys. I know exactly what's going to happen. I smirk slightly, because I am horny, but not because of him. I feel guilty, but what can I do?
"Yeah," i say.
As soon as the door is shut, I'm pressed against the wall. His lips make their way from my lips down to my neck. Usually, the way I would react to his touches pleased him. Today, I tried, I tried so hard, but I couldn't. It didn't feel the same anymore.
Fuck.
