Lee Daeun

Monday arrives, and I slump out of bed, feeling alive and ready. I am definitely a morning person. I really can't get how people stay up all night, then complain they had a shit sleep. Isn't that your own fault?

If this feels personal, it should.

(a/n: not me acting as if i don't do that shit)

I choose a simple pair of mom jeans and a white hoodie. Go on, judge me. I spray some perfume that Wooyoung gifted me for my twenty second birthday.

we've come so far, what's happening to me?

I grab my cameras, my bag, and my keys. I slide my shoes on and leave the house.

In all honesty, I enjoy my job. Photography has to be one of my favourite things, and the pay is great, so win win.

Today I'm photographing Blackpink's Kim Jisoo. She's advertising some very expensive outfits, and I have to admit, I'm deadass excited.

My car pulls into the carpark, and I exit the car. It's a sunny day, not too hot, but not cold either. Hoodie weather.

I take my bag out of the front seat and sling it over my shoulder. Quickly locking the car, I make my way inside.

It isn't too busy, maybe because most of the staff start their shifts later on. Well, 9am is a stupid timing, but for morning people like me, we don't really care.

"Morning Daeun!" My boss, Changbin calls. I give him a small wave as I set my bag down, then approach him. "We're running a bit behind, the set up tipped over so now we're having an interior designer from another company to make a new one."

"why another company?" i question.

"Because Jeongin isn't in until 11.30," He explains. "But this guy is a really good guy, as well as designer. The setup isn't even finished and it already looks better than the first one."

"Oh, I'll go check it out," I say. If I love one thing more than photography, it's interior. I love seeing the process, the transformation of an ugly room to a beautiful one. I often wish I chose that as a job, but oh well.

I approach the setup. Three unfamiliar men are working there, as well as the other staff members from our own company.

"It looks good, doesn't it?" Yeji murmurs into my ear. I nod my head.

"yeah, these guys are pretty talented," I agree. It's a simple blue background, mixed with other colours, with flowers on it. There are multiple shades of blue on the background, and altogether it looks pretty good.

"Hyunjin, pass me that box!" a man on a ladder calls. I follow his gaze to the man called Hyunjin.

My eyes widen.

It's him.

The man from the bar.

The one I thought I'd never see again.

He looks as good as he did that day, if not better. This time, he's wearing a black jumper, silver glasses, and black trousers. His hair is tied into a man bun at the back of his head. My eyes travel down to the silver necklace around his neck.

Daeun, stop it.

I gulp and looked down. Yes, he's hot, but I'm off limits. I have a boyfriend.

But hey, I know his name now. Hyunjin. A gorgeous name for a gorgeous person.

"You alright Daeun?" A voice interrupts my thoughts.

"oh hey Seungmin." I say. "yeah, I'm fine."

"This Hyunjin and his sidekicks seem to be doing okay," Seungmin comments.

"what are his sidekicks names?" i ask out of interest.

"Jisung and Minho," he explains. "They all work for Adora Designs."

"Adora- damn," they're a pretty popular company here in Seoul. "Changbin got lucky."

"Yeah, I think he's gonna start hiring them more often," Seungmin shrugs. "Anyway, have you seen Chan?"

"Nope," I say, my attention going back to Hyunjin as he climbs up the ladder. "He's probably somewhere around, why?"

"he asked for a coffee, and he disappeared," Seungmin indicates to the coffee in his hand. "i might as well have it." he brings it to his lips and takes a sip. i roll my eyes.

"Hey, Daeun!" Changbin calls. I turn my head towards him.

"Yes?" I ask.

"do you mind taking pictures, or even videos of this?" he says. "behind the scenes would be good."

"sure," i say. I take my camera out and quickly put the lens in.

I take a few photos from some good angles, where the focus is on their backs, as well as them adjusting the background. I take a few videos of them discussing. I wonder if they mind or not. Oh well, I can easily delete them if not.

"Are you guys done yet?" Changbin calls to the guys. I put my camera down.

"Nearly, we just need to get some more lights," Hyunjin calls. God, his voice is beautiful.

"Right," Changbin looks over the room. "Chan, help Hyunjin get those lights from the supply room."

"yessir," Chan replies, quickly bounding up to us. "Oh hey Seungmin, did you get my coffee?"

Me and Seungmin glance at each other, then at the cup Seungmin's hand. He passes it to Chan.

"thank- you DRANK it?!" he exclaims.

"you ran off, what was I supposed to do?" Seungmin scoffs. "It was the best coffee I've ever made."

"oh honestly," Chan rolls his eyes and chucks it in the bin. "thanks for nothing, sucker."

"sucker," Seungmin snorts as Chan walks over to Hyunjin. "What is this, the early 2000s?" I give a small laugh.

I watch as Chan guides Hyunjin to the supply room. Together, they get some beam lights. they bring them back and place them all around the setup. It really does look better than the first setup. Sorry Jeongin, maybe that's what happens when Changbin makes you do a job that isn't even yours.

Suddenly, I notice someone's eyes on me. Guess whose they are?

Hyunjin's.

He's staring at me, his eyebrow arched ever so slightly. I force myself to meet his gaze, and he looks even more confused. Then his mouth forms into a smirk, and his expression turns to an amused one. I feel the heat rushing to my face as he so obviously runs his eyes up and down me.

Now I'm starting to feel slightly conscious. Why the fuck is he staring at me like a fucking weirdo? Sure, I did that too, but not when he was looking.

I force myself to look away, and he looks away too.

Oh thank the lord.

"She's here!" Changbin suddenly yells. "Are you guys ready?"

"Yeah," Hyunjin says, taking one last look at me.

I gulp as him and his friends walk away.
