A Normal Day

An alarm starts beeping loudly, ringing in my ears. I move my hand to my night stand, trying to find what was annoying me. I found my phone buzzing, the annoyance coming from it. I tap snooze on the alarm, laying back down. I started to doze off when the alarm went off again. I groaned from annoyance, getting up and turning it off. I looked around my room, the light seeping in from behind my curtains. I looked down at the floor, where my clothes were scattered and random cups laid.

I sighed and got up from bed, heading over to the kitchen to make coffee. I looked all through the cabinets for my coffee grains, none was found. I put on my shoes and grabbed my purse. I started down the stairs and through the cafe.

I made it to the counter of the cafe. "One espresso, to go." I said, digging in my purse for money. "Maria, your shift starts in an hour. Shouldn't you get ready?" Lu said, his face with irritation while making my order. Lu is my coworker, he was always on me for every little thing I did. "Shouldn't you do your job and make me my coffee?" My attitude coming in.

Lu just stayed silent and handed me my coffee. "$3.75." I handed him the money and waited for my change. I looked out the window of the cafe, and saw a man oddly staring into the cafe. "Maria?" I turned my head to Lu, who handed me my money. "Hurry back before Lisa gets here." He said, then continued washing dishes for the customers. Lisa...
