It was the next morning, I woke up alone in the bed. The lamp had been turned off and I was sprawled out on the bed. The sunlight shimmered through the curtains. I turned to the night stand to turn the lamp on. As the light brightened the room, a letter was seen below it. I picked it up, the front read "Maria." I opened it and started reading.
"I had something to tend to, I had one of my staff fill your wardrobe. Pick out anything in the closet. There is also a toothbrush for you to use along with hair products in the bathroom. Feel free to walk around the house, just don't go in the basement. If you get hungry, Beau will make you something. Ps. If you plan on going outside, wear something warm."
I smiled after reading the note. I got out of bed, making my way to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and brushed my hair. There were a few perfumes on the sink, so I observed some. They all seemed so expensive. One smelled of blossoms and another of autumn spice. I picked the blossom, spraying myself a few times.
After finishing in the bathroom, I went over to the closet. I opened it, finding a lot of outfits hanging. This was more than what I had back home. Going through them, I found these cute low rise jeans and a long sleeve with cute buttons. Below on the closet floor were different boxes. One had socks, another had bras, and the last one had underwear. He must have thought of everything. I picked out what I liked from them. Then I began getting dressed. I threw my clothes in a basket right next to the basket, assuming that's what it was for.
After dressing, I walked out the room. I felt my stomach growl, so I made my way to the dinning room. As I walked past the staff, none of them moved. They looked like statues, waiting for something to happen in order to move.
After reaching the dinning room, Beau was already standing next to the table with different entrées. "Madam, I prepared a few meals for you." I still couldn't get over his French accent. Not many people in Tokyo were from France.
I sat down at the table after he set down a tray. On it was Yuba tofu, taiyaki, and dorayaki. He also sat down green tea. I felt my mouth water as I stared at the food. I looked up at Beau, "Thank you, this looks delicious." He smiled down at me before speaking, "Enjoy madam, if you're ever hungry don't be afraid to come into the kitchen." He walked off with the rest of the trays, leaving me alone to eat.
After finishing, I took the dishes to the kitchen through the big door. I would feel bad for leaving my dishes for someone else to clean. So I decided helping wouldn't hurt.
Pushing the doors open with my shoulder, I saw a massive kitchen. This may have been the only room with no red, it was black and white. There was a counter that stretched from the left to the right, an opening big enough for a person to walk through to get to the other side.
I saw the sink where Beau was. I walked over and smiled at him before setting the dishes on the counter next to the sink. "Thank you, Madam. I'll get these washed up." He took the dishes in his hands and set them in the sink. "I could wash them myself." I said, trying to offer my help. "It is my duty to take care of everything in this kitchen. You don't worry about this small task." Beau was overly nice to me. I just nodded my head and bowed, thanking him for the meal and for cleaning my dishes.
I decided to go outside, I was bored of staying in this house. As I walked to the big two doors of the house , two of the staff opened the door for me. I bowed down thankful. Walking down the stairs, I saw a beautiful garden. As I approached it, I saw a rose bush. I bent down, smelling the sweetness of them. These were my favorite flowers. Looking to the left, I saw more plants. Bushes were cut into statues of angels, pots of flowers in a small circle, and then I saw a grave. As I got closer, I could see the name under the vines that wrapped around it. "Machiko Tanaka." I whispered under my breath.
