Ecstasy

The sunlight poured through the curtains, my eyes slowly opening to feel a hand slide from my hip to my shoulder. "Good morning, sweetheart." The deep voice startled me slightly. I turned half way to meet Danny's gaze, his eyes fixed on mine.

"What time is it?" I sit up, rubbing my eyes from the tiredness. He sits up as well, looking away to the clock and back at me. "Almost 8am, want to get some breakfast before meeting one of my colleagues?" I looked at him and nodded my head. I wasn't too eager to meet this person, seeing in his line of work he was a dangerous man.
                                          -

I was filled up from Beau's cooking. His homemade rice balls and pasta filling me. I was already dressed and ready, a black shirt that hugged my body tightly with red imprinted roses and black jeans to go with it. I was very pleased with his choice in shoes. I was thinking he would only have heels, but there were these cute black boots with tan colored fur around the tops.

I was sitting in the passenger seat with Danny, his eyes fixed on the road. I was half expecting his driver to be driving us, but today it was Danny. The ride was mostly quiet, which I didn't mind at all. I just gazed out the window, the slight fog admitting from the pavement.

"Laura will like you." I turn my head to see him still focused on the road. "Has she heard about me?" I ask, my hands lying on my thighs. He gives me a slight look but then returned to the road. "She knows more about you than I do." I looked at him, confused about who this lady he was talking about.

After a few exchanged looks during the car ride, we made it to a building in the busy part of Tokyo. The building was huge, glass covering almost every inch. I didn't even dare to think about how it looked on the inside.

Before I could stop admiring the building, Danny had gotten out the car and made his way over to open my door. I look up at him from the car and slowly got out, his hand reaching for mine.

As we began to walk inside, his hand slid down to my hip. His eyes were fixed on the people in front of him, not even looking down at me. As he pulled the glass doors open, my eyes scanned the area. Lots of people walking around in suits and talking to each other as they typed away on computers or wrote in papers. It was so busy, no one even looking up. I saw a lady with long blonde hair and a suit approaching us.

"Seems you finally came around, Danny." She says, her hand resting on her hip as she looked at me. Her smile faded as soon as she looked me in my eyes. She looked at Danny, her expression saying "Are you serious?"

Danny rolled his eyes, his hand moving away from my hip. "Maria, this is Laura. She's my secretary and gets anything I need done." Laura rolls her eyes, looking back at me with a smile. "Hey darling, I hope he hasn't given you too much trouble." She chuckled at her own joke, causing a small smile to form on my lips.

"Danny, may I have a word with you in private?" She smiles at him, her eyes looking at me from the corners where her mascara slightly seemed smeared. Danny looked at me, a serious expression on his face. "There's coffee near the front desk. Feel free to help yourself, I shouldn't be too long." With that, he left my side and walked with Laura, disappearing behind a corner.

I looked around the area once more, but this time I felt eyes on me from everywhere. Whispers were being exchanged, glances seeming unbearable. I decided to sit down on a small couch, the cushions softer than expected. I pulled my phone out and read a few Reddit's that were posted.

As I was lost in my phone, I felt the left side of the couch slouch. I turn to see a man with his hood up, a red moon embedded on his left sleeve where his shoulder was. He turned to look at me, his eyes dark brown and his black hair over his lashes. "Are they making you wait too?" He asks, his voice slightly higher than Danny's but still deep. "Oh I'm just waiting for someone." He makes a slight 'hmph' sound, crossing his arms over his chest. "He should know not to leave a pretty girl waiting." He whispers to himself, but loud enough for me to hear.
