"PASS THE DISC!" Jay exclaimed to Jake as they'd played frisbee with some of the other boys.
It was the day of the picnic, and the air was filled with excitement and anticipation. The graduating class had gathered at the local park, which was decorated with colorful streamers and balloons. Long picnic tables were set up, covered with a variety of dishes and snacks that everyone had brought.
Hwamin arrived with Gaeul, both carrying baskets filled with homemade treats. The sun was shining, and the weather was perfect for an outdoor gathering. Hwamin felt a mix of nerves and excitement, eager to see how the day would unfold.
As they made their way to the main picnic area, Hwamin spotted Sunghoon helping set up some games from a distance. He looked relaxed, a faint smile on his face as he worked.
Since the announcement was so last minute, he had to work extra and pull some strings to get today to work with some of the other Class Presidents. Hwamin felt proud of him, and was glad he didn't look as stressed.
"Hey, Hwamin!" Jay called out, waving them over with the disc in his hand. "Need any help with those baskets?"
Hwamin smiled and shook her head. "We've got it, thanks." He nodded and continued his passing game with Jake.
Gaeul grinned. "Let's find a good spot to set these down."
They found a table and began arranging the food they had brought. As they did, Hwamin kept an eye on Sunghoon, who was busy with his own tasks and seemed preoccupied. She wanted to approach him, but she also didn't want to interrupt his work.
The picnic kicked off with a series of fun activities—tug-of-war, sack races, and a friendly soccer match. Laughter and cheers filled the air as everyone enjoyed themselves. Hwamin and Gaeul joined in the games, their playful spirits adding to the festive atmosphere.
During a break, Hwamin and Gaeul sat down under a large oak tree, sipping on cold drinks. They watched their classmates having fun, the atmosphere light and joyous.
"Looks like everyone's having a great time," Gaeul said, glancing around.
"Yeah, it's nice to see everyone so relaxed," Hwamin replied, her gaze occasionally drifting towards Sunghoon. He was still busy, but she could see the effort he was putting into making sure everything ran smoothly.
As the afternoon went on, Hwamin and Gaeul mingled with their classmates, sharing stories and laughter. Every so often, Hwamin caught sight of Sunghoon, who seemed content to stay on the sidelines, ensuring the event was a success.
When everyone was sitting down at the picnic, enjoying their food and chatting happily, a boy approached the group. He was their age, with an air of confidence. She didn't notice him at first until she felt an arm casually drape around her shoulders.
Startled, Hwamin looked up and was met with a familiar face. "Chase?" she said, her voice tinged with surprise and annoyance.
"Hey, Hwamin," Chase replied with a smug grin. "Long time no see."
