A WHILE AFTER YOON MIRAE LEFT, SUNGHOON LAY ON HIS BED ALONE, LOST IN THOUGHT. The dim light of his room cast long shadows on the walls, mirroring the turmoil within his mind. He stared up at the ceiling, his heart heavy with the weight of everything that had happened.
The image of Hwamin's terrified face when he accidentally froze her hand played over and over in his mind. He had tried so hard to keep his distance, to protect her from the icy curse that had haunted him for lifetimes, but it seemed like fate was determined to bring them back together, only to tear them apart once more.
Sunghoon's thoughts drifted to the past lives he had lived. He had watched over her from afar, protecting her without her knowledge, sacrificing his own happiness for hers.
This time, Hwamin remembered too. The bond between them now was more detrimental than ever. The fear of losing control, of freezing her again, loomed over him like a dark cloud.
Sunghoon closed his eyes, feeling the chill seep into his bones. He could sense the curse tightening its grip on him, the cold growing stronger with each passing day.
His body was betraying him.
A wave of sadness washed over him as he realized the truth he had been avoiding. No matter how hard he tried, no matter how much he fought against it, the curse was winning. He was losing the battle, and he could feel his life slipping away, inch by inch.
He knew he was going to die soon.

Miss Chin sat quietly in her small, dimly lit apartment, also lost in thought. This was the home she chose in order to fit in with the Humans. She stared out the window, watching the snow swirl and dance in the wind, her mind replaying the events of the past few days.
In all honesty, she was exhausted.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a sudden knock on the door. Miss Chin's heart skipped a beat as she turned to face the unexpected visitor. She opened the door to reveal Oceania, the Demi-Goddess of the planet of sea, Europa.
Oceania's presence was both regal and imposing, her flowing blue robes shimmering like the ocean under the moonlight.
"Oceania," Miss Chin greeted, her voice a mix of surprise and apprehension. She was surprised to see Oceania not in her typical, fish-like form but in a form of a Human. "What brings you here?"
Oceania stepped inside, her expression stern and unreadable. "The Head Celestial asked me to check up on Earth," she said, her voice carrying a tone of authority. "He sensed a form of disruption in the planet."
The Head Celestial? Well. Shit.
Miss Chin closed her eyes for a moment, embarrassed. She had known that her actions would draw attention, but she hadn't expected a visit from Oceania herself. She was unofficially the Head Celestial's second in command.
The Demi-Goddess of the Sea was known for her wisdom and power, and her presence here was a clear indication of the seriousness of the situation.
"Disruption?" Miss Chin echoed, trying to mask her unease. "I assure you, everything is under control."
Oceania's gaze hardened. "Is it? Many of the other demi-goddesses don't share your confidence. Your reputation precedes you, Seasons. You are known for your immaturity and recklessness. The Head Celestial has every reason to be concerned."
Miss Chin bristled at the criticism but knew better than to argue. Her past actions had earned her a reputation that was hard to shake. "I am doing what I believe is necessary to protect them," she said, her voice defensive.
Oceania sighed, her stern demeanor softening slightly. "Your intentions may be noble, but your methods are questionable. Why are you still obsessed over those two lovers? You have another 8 billion in the population to worry about! Move on. Your interference is causing more harm than good."
Miss Chin's eyes widened. "You think I'm making things worse?"
Oceania nodded. "The Head Celestial believes that the disruption on Earth is directly linked to your actions. The imbalance you're creating could have far-reaching consequences."
Miss Chin felt a wave of guilt wash over her. She had thought she was doing the right thing, but now she wasn't so sure. "What should I do?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Oceania placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "You need to find a way to restore balance. Your curse cannot be broken by force. It requires understanding, compassion, and a willingness to let go. You must guide the Ice Prince and Fire Princess, not control them."
Miss Chin nodded slowly, absorbing Oceania's words. She had been so focused on keeping them apart that she had forgotten the importance of guiding them through their struggles. "Okay. Thank you. I'll try," she slowly nodded.
Oceania gave her a small, encouraging smile. "I hope you do, Seasons. The fate of this world may very well depend on it."
