I stare out the window of the hotel. Since of the long journey to get here, we have to stay overnight here. I don't care about that though, I just want to get to the concert. It doesn't help that Makenas mom is taking forever! I'm not trying to complain, since she's done a lot just bringing us here in general, but it's still stressful. Makena is equally as anxious. Her foot is tapping in the group over and over.
"Mom, you done yet?" She groans, leaning her head back. Quickly, her mother comes out. She has her hair curled and is in a pretty lavender dress. Makenas face goes from nervous to shock. "Are you going with us?" she asks.
Her mother scoffs. "I wish love, but no. I managed to find myself a date while you two are having fun," she says with a smirk. Makenas jaw falls to the floor. She looks over at me as if I know what her mother might be talking about. To be completely honest, I've got no clue whatsoever.
Crossing her arms, Makena questions, "and who might this man be?"
Before answering, her mom gives her a weird look. "Questioning your mother now, are we?" Makena just stares at her. Sighing, her mom says. "Hun, I appreciate the concern, but you've gotta let me have my moment, alright?" Hesitantly, Makena nods.
"Okay mom, I'm sorry," she apologizes, her head hanging low. Luckily, her mom knows where she's coming from and wraps her in a quick hug. A while back, Makenas dad left them for another woman. I remember how heartbroken they were when they appeared at our doorstep with solemn looks, tears streaming down their cheeks. They're much better now, but Makena still gets protective when her mom wants to date.
Changing the subject, Makena opens the door. "Well, let's head out! I'm too excited to sit around here any longer!" I agree, following Makena out to the car.
I can barely sit still once I finally buckle up. Me and Makena pretty much beg Makenas mom to play Taylor Swift. Believe me when I say, Taylor is practically a queen. The way of life too, without Taylor, the world would probably be in shambles. Honestly, Taylor should go for president. She'd get literally all the votes. I can just feel it.
Taking me out of my mind, Makenas mom pulls into the large parking lot to the stadium. There weren't anymore parking spots, so Makena and I just have to hop out and walk. Before heading in, Makena leans down and kisses her mothers cheek. "Thank you mom, see you after the concert!" She grins.
"Yes of course! Love you Makena! You two have a blast. Bye!" She called, waving to them as she left.
Makena opens her mouth to speak when a deep voice behind us says, "why hello ladies."
