So Makena was not kidding. Fortunately for me though, I don't need to respond. For now, I'm just going to pretend I never saw the message. And for his information, I am completely fine. He doesn't need to check in on me. The rest of the trip/vacation was spent with Makena and her mom saying he was being sweet and I should be grateful that he wanted to check in on me, but I still don't trust it, or him.

And what makes this so much better? Apparently Makena figured out that he and Darron lived only about ten minutes from us. Makena says it's fate, I say it's the world turning against me. I don't mind Darron living by us, he's nice to Makena! Conner, on the other hand, is a creepy, flirty jerk. It doesn't help that he doesn't seem to have any sense of personal space.

A wave of relief washes over me as I wave Makena goodbye. No more being pushed into tolerating Conner from this girl! I quickly head up to my room, tossing my stuff down. That night in the hotel sucked.

Want to know what happened? Well, I went to lay down in the queen bed Makena and I were sharing when I saw this huge spider crawl out from the blanket! I couldn't stop screaming. That's isn't even all of it. After the spider was killed, we found a mud and blood stain on the mattress and sheets. If the floor went covered in dust I episode slept on it.

Makena ended up waking me up close to the middle of the night because she needed her inhaler. The entire place smelled like smoke. Originally, I thought it was like a fire, but it was just some weirdo smoking in the halls.

Thank God my house actually smells good. After a full day in a body Oder smelling concert then a horrid smelling hotel, I needed the scent of a clean room.

Suddenly, I hear the door downstairs open with a creak. I excitedly rush downstairs, my eyes searching for the rest of my family. Hanging his hat, my brother turns to me with a grin. I let out a squeal of excitement, running into his arms.

"Caleb, you came home early!" I say with a grin. Caleb is a part of the military, so he's not home often. I love when he is though, then we can chill! He's the best brother in the face of the planet! If I could, I'd hero him home forever.

Chuckling, Caleb rubs my head playfully. "Hey sis, how's life been? I heard you went to the Eras tour?" He asks, raising an eyebrow. I nod enthusiastically, explaining the past events in extreme detail.

When I finally stop talking, he gawks at me. "You've had an eventful couple of days. Now, why do you hate that Conner guy again?" I roll my eyes. I pull out my phone, showing him the text Conner sent me.

"He's just flat out creepy. Not only that but he's always trying to get involved with my life. It's so annoying!" I complain, shutting off my phone and crossing my arms.

Caleb looks skeptical, as if he doesn't know what to think of my reason. Cautiously, he opens his mouth and says, "sounds like he's just being nice. Doesn't seem like he's doing anything wrong." I give my brother a weird look. He doesn't know what he's talking about.

Either way though, it's not like it matters. My brother's home!
