Loathe // Lee Haechan

Chapter 4

- The New Heir - 

It was break of dawn as Yerin was in the kitchen making coffee for her and her mom. Her mother sitting on the dining table as her files for the next mission was spread out. Yerin couldn't believe it, but she guesses she has to get used to it. 

"Here you go mom" Yerin put her mother's coffee down on the table next to her files. "Oh, thank you, Yerin" Eun-Ji thank her daughter for the coffee. "No worries, mom. It's made out of love" Yerin said as she gave her mother a kiss on the cheeks. 

"I'm so grateful to have you as my daughter" Eun-Ji said as she looked at her daughter who was going to the kitchen to make herself breakfast. At least it's Saturday so Yerin don't need to work as for updates of the convenience store, it's still a crime scene... 

Yerin takes out the cereal box from the cupboard as she takes a bowl pouring it in. Going to the fridge as she takes out the milk, pouring the milk into the bowl. Yerin puts the milk back into the fridge. She takes her bowl of cereal as she sat in front of her mom at the dining table. 

Yerin's eyes fell on one particular mission as the file read The Rising Heir: Haechan's Ascension in the Lee Family Mafia of NCT. Yerin grabs it from the pile without her mom looking as she turns the page. 

The file detailed how Haechan is set to become the new ruler and heir of the Lee underworld enterprise, taking over as the leader of NCT. His ascension comes as his older brother Taeyong steps down from the leadership role to assist their gravely ill father in getting the necessary treatment, along with some personal information.

"Mom? Can I ask you, why is NCT after us" Yerin asks as she put a spoon of cereal in her mouth. Eun-Ji looks up from her files as she saw her daughter snooping in one of her files and particularly the "The Rising Heir" file. Eun- ji sighs as she puts her pen down on a file she was working on. 

Eun- Ji looks at her daughter as she intertwined her hands. "NCT is after us because of an old conflict between our families. Years ago, our organization crossed paths with them over a business deal gone wrong. They think we betrayed them, but the truth is more complicated. The deal was sabotaged from the inside, and NCT has been seeking revenge ever since. They're relentless and dangerous. Just stay alert and don't get involved more than you have to. Your safety is my priority."

Yerin nods as she drinks her coffee that was now cold. 

Haechan sat in the meeting room as he stood in front of big screen as the projector had information, about the "Bulletproof" gang members and Kim Eun-Ji showing on the screen. 

All 25 members eyes were focused on the screen as there is always that one that doesn't listen or is easy distracted, or sleeps. "Park!" Haechan smacked the file next to him who was sleeping in the middle of the meeting. 

Jisung jerked awake to see the file beside him and looked up to find Haechan looming over him. "What's going on? And why did you hit me with my file" Haechan pressed his tongue against his cheek in annoyance as he glared down at him.

"You can't be serious to sleep in the middle of a big mission, we need plans Jisung no sleeping beauties on duty" Haechan spat as he went back to the screen. Jisung looked down as Jaemin pat the boys head to comfort him. 

"So, let's start, first we have... The members listen carefully and attentively.

 Role: Influential figure in the underworld; formerly the strategic mastermind behind her late husband Kim Seokjin's operations.
