LUCKILY YOUR MEMORY WAS DECENT, AND YOU COULD ACTUALLY REMEMBER WHERE TANJIRO TOLD YOU THE MATH BLOCK WAS.
you made your way to the class quickly, frowning slightly.
maths first was just great. for two periods, too. whatever, though. you were pretty good at maths, you just disliked it. and more so, you were taking advanced maths this year (as recommended by your parents and teachers, but still. ugh)
checking your schedule, you match your schedule to the class in front of you. making sure it was the right classroom, you hide away your schedule and slowly enter the class, looking around quickly.
hopefully you could make friends with someone in this class, as much as you were nervous talking to people, you much preferred having people to talk to in class in case you get stuck, or if the teacher does something stupid.
the class was surprisingly empty, with only a few students littering the tables despite it being almost two minute passed the bell ringing. you blinked slightly, this was everyone.
well, it was advanced math. it wasn't really surprising that the class was relatively empty.
you glanced around, there were free tables.
you sighed out through your nose,
welp, i don't want to be one of those people who sits next to someone even when there's free spots
so you lug yourself over to an empty table in the second back row, putting your stuff up on the seat next to you and taking out your math books and other items.
noticing that everyone was writing something despite there being no teacher, you frowned slightly, scanning the front board for any instructions.
there were none, so you were pretty clueless on what to do, but you just started some revision work, not wanting to be the only person in the class not working when the teacher arrived.
the door swung open and you didn't glance up, still focused on your work.
that was until someone slipped into the seat beside you.
you looked up in surprise, your [eye colour] eyes meeting with fascinating rainbow ones.
"oh, i'm sorry.. did i take your spot?" you winced slightly.
he grins, and you just then noticed that there were some annoyed looks from around the room coming his way.
"nope! this is an empty table usually" he said casually, turning to pull out his stuff.
you purse your lips,
huh?? then why's he sitting here..
"oh.. okay?" you said awkwardly, turning back to your own book. why would he sit next to you if this wasn't his desk?
"so you're new, huh?" he asked, you turned to him. he was grinning again.
"yeah, i am" you avoid eye contact awkwardly. something about this dude was weirding you out a little bit.
you gasped slightly as he slung an arm over your shoulder, "well, then! i'm douma, how about i be your first friend?" he purred, fingers clamping around your shoulder.
you stiffened, fists clenching slightly. this man immediately reminded you of the guy from your previous school.
you turned to side-eye him, "um.. okay? can you.. get off?" you said awkwardly, glancing around the rest of the classroom awkwardly. nobody was doing anything, but they all seemed annoyed with his antics.
you frowned. it was the same as always, wasn't it?
even though you were being practically harassed at this point with douma not moving his arm, nobody was doing anything. a prime example of the bystander effect.
douma pouted, not removing his arm. "hey, don't be mean.. what's your name?"
you side-eye him again, sighing and pulling his arm off you. "it's [last name] [name]". you don't provide him with permission to call you your first name.
"well, [name]-chan! i'm glad to sit next to you for the rest of the year" he grinned. you rolled your eyes, but shrugged, "whatever"
guys like this weren't worth your time. he was just testing the waters, a playboy you assumed. he was testing to see if you'd fall under his trap immediately.
well, sucks to suck, douma. you're not a suck up. though he was admittedly attractive.
finally the teacher arrived, you breathed out in relief, resting your chin in your hand.
the teacher got into the lesson immediately, unfortunately you were learning about linear equations. a stupid, useless and boring topic.
douma pouts, "man, i hate linear equations.."
"agreed" you mutter.
the two of you started on your work quickly, working through the exercise and even occasionally helping each other. even if he was kindly insufferable, you could tolerate him when it came to class time. seems you had no choice.
finally, the end of class bell rung. the two of you packed your stuff up, you go to exit but he whines, "waaitt [name]-chann! it's break time now, who are you sitting with?" he grinned cheekily.
you frowned,
crap, i didn't think of that..
"uh, i dunno.."
"you should sit with me and my buddies" he nudges shoulders with you.
you shake your head, "no, thanks"
if his friends were anything like him, you wanted nothing to do with them.
he pouts, "fine, whatever. give me your phone"
you squint at the male, "why?"
"so i can put my number in your phone, silly!"
you sigh, begrudgingly unlocking your phone, opening contacts and handing it to the boy, allowing him to create a contact for himself.
he passed you the phone, winked, and hurried away.
you frown, glancing down at it. his contact was set as 'bf ;)'.
you sighed out, shaking your head. whether that was meant as 'best friend' or 'boyfriend', you didn't think you wanted to know.
this would probably be a pain, wouldn't it?
