Dear Maria,

I'm enjoying my time here so far, it hasn't been very long, but I think I like it. We got our things for our first hike yesterday and we all get to write about our days in our notebooks. I miss you a lot and I can't wait to come home. Tell dad I say hi. I love you

With Love,

If I'm being honest, our first day at camp was probably the best. They told us how it was going to be.

No, they didn't sugarcoat it, and no, they made sure not to leave a single thing out.

You probably don't know a lot about me, but my name is Alexis Hill my friends used to call me Lexi and my sister calls me Alex. I'm 15 years old and that letter you just read was from my first week of camp. I don't know if you could tell but the whole thing was bullshitted. They ripped out half the pages and burnt them in the fire for 'dishonesty' and that's just the copy that they approved. I'm surprised they even  let that letter slide. Considering I literally said I wanted to go home.

The first camp I was at was called Woodland a wilderness camp, and my sister sent me there to get me away from my father. She couldn't take me because she was in the Marines and had her own problems so I guess her getting me out of the house into a camp was the best option.

I think we all know by now she was wrong.
Very wrong

Woodland was an outdoors camp for trouble teens, and it might seem fun to you from the outside, but from the inside. It was a living hell.

We weren't allowed to shower and we're giving a sleeping bag that was thinner than a piece of paper. We were mostly sleeping off of rocks and the food we got wasn't edible half the time and was rotten. We were forced to do manual labor and they broke us down and told us we were basically nothing except their slaves.

When I was sent home from Woodland, I was sent to another camp well rather school. Ria thought that it was a boarding school and claimed it would be good for me.

Little did she know it was almost the exact same as my last place except it was inside and we were like robots.

That lovely school is know as Horizon Edge Academy, it honestly looked like a nice school and to be honest, I was just excited to get out of the wilderness. I just wasn't aware of the rules.

That's basically a rundown of the starting point of trauma. I mean, we didn't really get to my dad, but that's a different story for another day.

I mean the easiest thing to say is that he's abusive and a dick and he basically beat Maria out of the house and since I'm a minor, I couldn't really leave.

Now, why don't we go back in time a bit?
