Tessa's POV
"Amelia, were here." I am shaken awake by Sir Martin calling my name. Or my fake name.
"Its Tessa?" I say in confusion as I rub my eyes trying to wake up.
"Not anymore it isn't." He stands up. "From now on I and everyone else will call you this for the duration of your stay. It will help you make less slip ups and help you to be fully immerse in your character."
I slowly nod. I guess that makes sense. Although it will be weird, but its only for a month.
I stand up and collect my belongings and shove them in my bag.
"Who else knows about my identity?" I question.
"Just the people who need to know. The prince and princess aka your 'cousins', the king and queen, your lady in waiting, me of course and my assistant Benny." He finishes without stuttering.
"Won't the other staff or guards question what is happening?"
"They know their place. They won't be asking anything." He blandly says as he picks up his bag and starts moving to the planes door as Benny follows him.
I shrug and purse my lips.
Ok then?
I turn to follow him and as soon as I enter outside I am hit with much warmer weather than at home. Its not hot by all means, but its like fall weather, very cool.
At home since it was late November, it was pretty cold but now I don't think Ill be needing this winter coat anymore I think as I take off my coat and drape it over my arm.
I don't have it for long though as I come up to a black van about to get in with Sir Martin but one of the security guards, I assume, took my coat and bag for me and opened the door for me.
"Princess Amelia. Welcome back." One of the guards say while opening my door and I watch all the guards surrounding my car bow to me.
What the heck?
I assume they don't actually think I'm the princess but maybe they were told to act like I was the real deal.
"T-thank you." I respond to them with a small smile.
I hop into the car and the guard closes it for me once he knows I'm set up inside.
Out of the corner of my eye I see a smirk coming from Benny. "Better get used to that princess, for the next month you are going to receive the royal treatment." I nod and smile wearily.
This will be hard to get used to for sure.
I feel like almost falling asleep again because of the jet lag but then we finally leave the country side and my vision is graced with a beautiful town.
By the architecture I can tell its old and has extensive history.
One which I should probably start reading soon in that book he gave me...
It reminds me of Italy, although I've only seen the pictures online. It gives me that feeling.
Thank gosh they speak English here though.
"Beautiful isn't it?" Sir Martin looks at my awed expression.
"its a great country with a rich history. I hope you can learn a lot about it in your short time here." He says with great pride in his voice making me smile in agreeance.
I look out the window as cars go by and people walking with their families on the sides of the street.
My smile diminishes slowly as I see children holding their parents hands while they swing their child up in the air. The laughing children and the parents holding their pride and joys makes me wonder what it would be like to have that growing up.
