Once Mia had made sure that Charlotte was safely on her way home in a taxi, she had some time to kill before her next flight. As she wandered around the airport Charlottes absence made her feel empty. She didn't want to smother the brunette and as much as she could easily have spent every waking moment with Charlotte, she knew that they both needed to retain their independence. Once she'd found a somewhat comfortable chair, she decided to have a short sleep. Realistically she didn't even feel that tired, she just wanted to dream.
Charlotte was exhausted so as soon as she arrived home, she headed straight to her bedroom. She couldn't wait to have a nap, she wasn't used to travelling and it had really taken it out of her. Flopping down onto her bed, she noticed a light pink envelope on her pillow. Smiling, she picked it up and noticed immediately that Mia had clearly sprayed it with her perfume. Charlotte opened it carefully, sighing happily as she was greeted with Mia's beautiful handwriting.
Hello Sweetheart,
Thank you for choosing me, Charlotte. Until I met you, I was so lonely and lost. You are the only person who has taken the time to understand who I really am and I know it hasn't been easy. Taking care of you fills my heart with joy and for as long as you allow me to, I will always look after you. Your heart is safe in my hands and I'm so grateful for the way you hold mine so gently. Nobody has ever done that before.
You are so beautiful and I wish so desperately for you to see yourself the way that others do. It breaks my heart how hard you are on yourself, you don't realise how perfect you truly are. I would do anything for you and I would take you anywhere. All you need to do is ask.
I could spend eternity looking at you sweetheart. Every little habit makes me adore you even more. When you're excited and you jump up and down. When you're nervous and you tuck your hair behind your ear. When you're watching a sad film and you make that little hiccuping sound. The way your eyes sparkle when you've got something to tell me. That little pout you do before you tell me off. I want every part of you, always.
I know I don't always get things right, but I'm trying so hard to be the partner you need and deserve. Your refusal to give up on me and the way you believe in me each and every day, means more to me than you could ever know. The words to express what you really mean to me simply haven't been created yet, but I hope that you'll hold this letter close to your heart, always.
My life was so grey for so long, but now I have you, my life is so full of light.
