Unrequited Love

I gaze into the night pitch dark

And dream of love, in stark contrast

My heart, as if confined, encased,

Beats a despondent tune

Eyes which once sparkled like dawn

Now stare through me, as if cold and drawn

Castles of love in dreams fluffy

Now sink deep into indifference's quicksand

The path we tread, now seems not feasible

With each step, hope dying a thousand deaths

The flower of love in some garden secret

Though knowing to bud, refuses to bloom.

I let my heart bleed today

And it bleeds in verses of sorrow

In melodies of tears

Which the world never hears

I glance at her, one last time

My heart aches at the parting goodbye

A tender pain of memories bittersweet

My unrequited love, shall forever remain.
