Nezoku is different as she is a demon, but she's able to suppress her demonic tendencies, keeping her human behavior. However, my human and demon were separated by a wall; perhaps it was due to the early exposure to Wisteria content that Muzan's cells refused to merge with mine. The night or the moment Gyomei did not put a Wisteria incense so I began to transform into a demon.

This can be set back once I consume Wisteria, reverting the changes and I become human once more. They tried that method with Nezoku in hopes it could do the same for her. However, it didn't work the same way as it did with mine. Instead, it brought her pain, like being burned from the inside out, causing trauma to the girl.

Perhaps the reason why I couldn't remember what happened during my meeting with Muzan is that the moment he injected his blood into me, he was able to temper my memory and forget any crucial information that may be of use to the Demon Slayer. He can do that with every demon he infects.

"However when you turned back to human form yesterday, some remnants or characteristics of a demon left. Such as your fangs and seemingly developed allergy to sunlight. There might be a possibility that the next time you go on a rampage... you'll inherit more characteristics as you slowly succumb to your demon counterpart." Shinobu says.

I could feel the air stuck in my throat; I was speechless, "I see, it makes sense now."

Sooner or later, if we make even one small mistake, I'll become a demon. Living in a shell that I can not contain as I watch from the inside, I can imagine my demon counterpart killing and hurting those whom I love. Just the thought of that... sickens me to my core.

"You're not experiencing any side effects from consuming Wisteria?" Shinobu asks one more question before leaving, "The incense wards off the demons and is alright for humans to inhale, but consuming it is both poison to humans and demons."

I shake my head, "Surprisingly, no."

"That'll be all, Kanao will take care of you from now on. I still have my duties and missions to take care of as  Hashira." Shinobu says, "That goes for you as well, Gyomei-san... You can't stay here all day and night, disregarding your duties as well."

Gyomei blushes in embarrassment, "I know but..."

"We've already lost the Flame Hashira, and the Sound Hashira is crippled; we can't accept any more losses; until then, you need to train the Demon Slayers."

"It's okay Gyomei." I set a hand on his arm, "I'll be fine here."

He heaves a heavy sigh, caressing my face in comfort, his comfort, "I'll return by night. Wait for me, we'll have dinner together."

"Don't worry about a thing," I reassure.

Later on that night, while Kanao was doing chores around the Mansion, I took a walk around the forest that surrounded the mansion. Not being able to sit idly with the burning pain in my chest I've been holding in a whole day. I vomited blood all over the ground with my hand on a tree for support.

After a while, I took a bath, brushed my teeth, and then made my way back to my room, wiping off my mouth. I sought the comfort of my bed and lounged there; shortly after, there was a knock on my door.

"Come in," I say turning over to see Gyomei enter the room.

I put on a soft smile as I sit up, "Hi, love. How was your day?"

He clears his throat, approaching me, "I'm fine... it was busy... sorry I couldn't return early. I hope you already ate your dinner."

"I did yeah. You?"
