HUNTERS POV
Hunters was feeling bored as he sat in the library, surrounded by dusty old books
Hunters had always been a solitary person. He preferred to keep to himself, avoiding social interaction whenever possible. Being a Grimwalker didn't make things easier for him. He was different from everyone else, and he knew it.
But lately, he had been feeling isolated and lonely. He longed for someone to talk to, someone to share his thoughts and feelings with. He wanted someone to understand him for who he really was.
As he sat in the library, lost in thought, he heard the sound of footsteps approaching. He turned to see who it was, and his heart skipped a beat. It was Edric.
Edric was a popular and charismatic student at their school. Everyone seemed to like him, and he had a way of charming people with his witty remarks and easy smile. Hunters, on the other hand, had always kept his distance from him, feeling too awkward and uncomfortable to engage in conversation.
Yet here he was, walking into the library and heading straight towards Hunters. Hunters felt his heart rate quicken as Edric sat down next to him.
"Hey, mind if I sit here?" Edric asked, flashing him a bright smile.
Hunters shook his head, feeling a rush of nervousness. He hadn't expected Edric to talk to him, let alone sit next to him.
Edric took a seat and looked at the books on the table. "What are you reading?" he asked, tilting his head curiously.
Hunters felt a lump in his throat. He didn't want to sound weird or nerdy. "Oh, um...just some old history books," he mumbled, hoping the answer was mundane enough.
"History books, huh?" Edric said, raising an eyebrow. "That sounds pretty boring."
Hunters felt a pang of disappointment. Of course Edric would think his interests were boring. "I find it interesting," he said quietly.
Edric leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms. "Really? I find history to be dull and monotonous," he said dismissively.
Hunters felt himself bristling at Edric's tone. "Just because you find it boring doesn't mean it's not important," he retorted.
Edric looked at him, surprised. "You're feisty," he said, chuckling. "I didn't realize you had a backbone."
Hunters felt a mixture of irritation and satisfaction. He hadn't expected to stand up to Edric like that. "Well, you don't know everything about me," he said, trying to sound nonchalant.
Edric leaned in closer, his eyes studying Hunters. "I guess I don't," he said, his voice low and velvety. "But I'd like to know more."
Hunters felt his heart skip a beat. Was Edric flirting with him? He had no experience with romance, and the idea of someone like Edric liking him seemed too good to be true.
He looked away, feeling his cheeks burn. "You'd get bored," he said, hoping to deflect the conversation.
But Edric didn't seem deterred. "I doubt that," he said, a hint of challenge in his voice. "I have a feeling you're more interesting than you let on."
Hunters felt a shiver run down his spine. Edric's proximity was both thrilling and terrifying. He could smell a hint of cologne, and the warmth of his body was almost overwhelming."You never talk to anyone," Edric continued, his gaze never leaving Hunters'. "It's like you're this mysterious, closed-off person, and I can't help but be intrigued."Hunters' heart raced in his chest. No one had ever shown such interest in him before. He was used to being alone, but now he felt a strange pull towards Edric.
"Why, though?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper. "Why me?"Edric shrugged, a small smile playing on his lips. "Perhaps it's your quiet strength," he said. "Or maybe it's the fact that you're so different from everyone else. Whatever the reason, I can't seem to get you out of my head."Hunters' mind was spinning. No, this couldn't be happening. Edric was popular and charming; he could have anyone he wanted. Yet here he was, confessing that he couldn't get Hunters out of his head.
