"Saw that video you posted." Spider finally spoke, filling in the silence among the three boys. He and Malakai were in the school gym bright and early, training for the basketball district spot. As they worked out, Ant sat on his phone, sipping on a soft drink.
Malakai smiled. "Oh, yeah?"
"Bit desperate, is it?"
"Nah, gotta rig, mate." Malakai told him. "Don't be jealous."
"I just hope you're not trying to thirst trap Bee, because you're last in line mate." Spider told him as he continued to push up his dumbbell.
"Meaning?"
"Meaning she's been with nearly everyone already." Spider explained. "So, if you're tryna bonk? The clock isn't even ticking anymore. Times up, you've lost your chance."
Ant glanced up at his friend, his straw hanging in his mouth. Spider knew that those rumours weren't true, it seemed like he just wanted to scare Malakai off. But his tactics were unsuccessful as Malakai just smiled. "I don't really care if she's slept with half the boys in school." The boy shrugged.
"Brave. Unless you posted the video to try thirst trap Amerie." Spider scoffed. "Just know she's filth."
"Amerie?" Malakai gave him a look of confusion at his statement.
"You're the one who helped sneak her into Dusty's." Spider reminded him.
"She's a friend." Malakai explained. Spider scoffed, letting out heavy breaths as he proceeded with his workout. Malakai picked up a dumbbell and mirrored the boy's actions, it almost seemed like he wanted to prove himself. But Malakai pushed himself too hard and ended up vomiting on the ground beside him.
Ant glanced over to him and chuckled, shaking his head. "Fuck." Malakai cursed.
Spider placed his weight down and crouched down in front of Malakai. "I'm not going to be dragged down by you anymore, lightweight. Find someone else to train with."
"You good?" Ant asked as his friend left the room. But Malakai didn't reply, he just groaned with frustration.

Bee walked past the outdoor basketball court. She seemed to be in a rush, and she hadn't even noticed Malakai was in there practising. But he had already seen her. "Oi, Bee!" He exclaimed.
She glanced around confused, before spotting him. The girl strolled up to the fence, a smile on her face. "Hey, all good?"
"Better now I've seen your face." Malakai smiled. Her face began to heat up with embarrassment. "Bugger off." She warned as she decided to keep on walking. But Malakai followed her, the fence separating them. "One-on-one?" He suggested, holding up the basketball.
