🎤. . . CHAPTER 001 !
( real life )
"what a woman"

ELLIE WAVED GOODBYE TO her best friend as her car pulled out of the parking lot. looking around, ellie pulled her phone out of her tiny bag and slid the wand of her lipgloss over her lips. she clicked her phone off, taking a deep breath in before walking through the spinning doors of the restaurant in front of her. before going up to the hostess stand, she shook the snow out of her hair and off her leather jacket.

it had been a while since ellie had gone on a serious date, considering how her last relationship left her in shambles and write a whole break up album. but it did also lead her to win a grammy but that's besides the point.

ellie greeted the hostess with a smile, "um a reservation for two. it should be under the name of ellison." the woman typed on her computer before finally finding the reservation.

"here it is, right this way." the lady grabbed two menus and led ellie to a table in the back under the dim lighting of the restaurant.

ellie was the first one there, but she didn't think much of it as she was a couple minutes early and suspected he would be there soon. ellie grabbed her phone from her purse once again, checking the time. her phone read 8:24 and she was supposed to be there at 8:30.

her date was supposedly an all star college football player but ellie refused to believe he was all that he says he was online.

to pass the time ellie read through her text messages and missed emails, scrolled through almost every app she had on her phone and even played some subway surfers.

"my name is kaitlyn and i will be your server today, can i get you started with any drinks?" the sound of the waitress voice drew ellie's attention away from her game and back to reality.

"um can i actually wait just a few more minutes, im waiting on someone." ellie nervously spoke.

"yeah of course," the woman said, tucking her note pad back into her pocket as she walked away. ellie looked back down at the time, now reading 8:32.

he could just be late, or be stuck in traffic or anything like that. those are the things boys do you know. for the next few minutes ellie thought if every situation that could be causing him to be late. every situation except him standing her up.

8:39 the clock now read. she checked her messages, wondering if she missed a text from him saying that he couldn't make it or if he was running late and why.

but there was nothing.

the waitress came back numerous times asking if ellie was ready to order a drink yet but no, she was still holding out hope that he would show.

the more time that ticked past the more worried ellie grew.

8:50, 8:54, 8:59, 9:00. nothing.

"excuse me ma'am, if your not going to order anything i'm going to have to ask you to leave because people are waiting on your table." the waiter asked her again.
