We reached the professor's office 1 minute late from the allocated time
"But sir we are only 1 min late" I exclaimed,
"Sanya, you are going to be a doctor, do I really need to explain to you the value of 1 min" Sir replied
"No sir" I looked down
"Sir it was my fault, I will back off from this project, but please let this project go" Suddenly Shaurya said,
I looked at Aditi and then we both glanced at him, he was the one who came up with the idea to bring this team
"Shaurya, if you don't know this is a team project" Sir replied
"Sir but the whole project was ready on time, due to my mistake it got delayed"
"I don't want your arguments Shaurya, your team issues are your internal matter and none of my business, and Sanya, as the Captain, what were you doing, not only your project is late, your team also has issues within it" Sir scolded me
"I am sorry sir" I replied.
I was not arguing because I knew we were at fault, just when we were about to leave, Kunal came from inside, maybe after submitting his project inside
"Sanya, you are also here to submit the project?" he asked me
"It's not getting selected" Shaurya glared at him and said,
he glanced at Shaurya then turned to me and asked "Why?"
"Because they were late Kunal" sir said
"But sir it is only 12:03 right now"
"Yes, but the deadline was till 12"
"But sir I know Sanya, and she is very determined, if they were not here on time, I am sure they would have had reasons"
"Their reasons don't matter Kunal"
"Sir but she is really good and I am sure she can win" Kunal said to which professor shake his head in a no,
"Sir if they are not going, even my team is withdrawing from the competition, it is for the first time ISEF has given chance to junior year students, so why not bring two awards to our college, sir it is either that or none" Kunal declared
"No Kunal you can't do that" I said and earned a glare from him
"It's because of you I am giving them a chance Kunal, I want 2 awards on this table" Professor said writing our name for the competition.
"Thank you" I told Kunal as we came out of the professor's office
"Don't thank me thank yourself, I know you are talented, that's why I wanted you on my team, but if not that, you deserve to be there in the competition" he replied
