Francisca's POV
The door that we thought would get us into Donna's office wasn't actually the door. The actual door is the door, within the door within the door.
I'm no architect, but this is some weird building.
Donna has another secretary that we apparently have to go through, I swear it feels like we are inside a game, getting through different levels of monsters to get to fight the final boss.
Fortunately, Donna's other secretary - who I now know was merely the receptionist called this secretary so we didn't have to make any moves to convince this one to let us through. She just pointed us to the door, which was the final door, thank god.
"Do we knock, or..." I say, when we are in-front of the door that would lead us directly to the CEO office before Ivan opens the door, aggressively.
I wince. Kinda wish we were a bit gentler than that. Don't want this Donna person to think we were attacking her or anything. Though, I'm not sure that's not the exact vibe my brothers are going for.
Donna is obviously startled by our entrance. We- excuse me, they caused a lot of noise opening the door and leading it to slam into the wall behind it. I am not condoning this violent entrance.
"What is the meaning of this?!" A woman with Dark black hair that's in a bob shouts. She has a professional look about her in a red basic shirt underneath a purple jacket with matching purple pants. And her make up in on fire. This is Donna Carlyle. This is how I imagine a CEO of a fashion agency to look like.
"Who are-" she says before cutting herself off, her dark brown eyes widen, slowly realizing who we are.
Before any of us says anything, the secretary that let us through earlier runs in and is right behind us when she looks from us to her boss and asks, a nervous tone in her voice. "Is everything all right?"
When no one says anything, I can feel the poor woman spiraling into panic. But before she opens her mouth I say with a smile that I hoped would reassure her, "everything is fine, don't worry, my brother just didn't realize his own strength."
She still looks unsure and glances at her boss who nods at her once. "Yes, yes, you can leave, Carmen."
When the secretary leaves, the stare off continues, and Donna is the one to break it.
"Why, how grown up you all now are." She says with a smile.
"Cut the bullshit." Ivan says, and I mentally slap my forehead. How does my idiot of a brother think that this is how we will be able to make Donna talk?
"Excuse me?" Donna asks.
"I apologize for my brother's rudeness." I say with a shaky laugh "no one ever taught him manners." I shoot him a look that I receive with a glare of his own.
"I'm Francisca, and these are my brothers Ivan and Daniel, we recently found out that you were really close with our mother, practically best friends!"
Her shoulders sag, "yes" she says in a tone of voice so quite, I almost didn't hear. "We were best friends." She confirms.
I smile, "well, when we figured that out we knew we had to come and meet you! We have a few questions, just a few! About our mother.."
"Ah," she says, sitting back in her chair. "And does your father know that you are here?"
"Um," I look at my brothers for help and Dan comes to my rescue.
"No, he doesn't," he says. "Our father doesn't like to speak about mom, and since Ivan and I didn't have much time with her, and Francisca's stories didn't satisfy us, we thought you'd be our best bet."
Donna smiles, and I only think about how good my brother is at deception. Both of them!
"I would be happy too." She replies.
Okay okay, we are getting somewhere, and we haven't scared her off yet.
Ivan walks forward to Donna's desk and slams both his palms on it. "Great! Then why don't you tell us about how you helped our mother disappear."
But of course that didn't last.
