A/N:
A cute Falice centric chapter!
🥰🥰🥰At FP's suggestion, he and Alice ended up deciding to get their food from Pop's to go and rode out to Sweetwater River to eat it together.
The duo decided to sit on the tailgate of FP's truck while they were consuming the burgers, fries and drinks that they'd gotten back at the diner, all the while just generally catching up on each other's lives over the past few months since they didn't really interact with one another much despite their children being close friends.
As FP was telling her how Gladys hadn't seen or spoken to either of his kids in at least three years, Alice couldn't help but think about the huge secret that she was currently still keeping from him.
FP was already aware about the son that the two of them shared.
She'd finally confessed the truth about Charles to him years before during Betty, Archie and Jughead's elementary school years and she'd shown up at the Wyrm one night following a pretty bad fight with Hal.
It hadn't been long after Amelia had first gone missing actually. Alice hadn't been handling the fact that her youngest was God knows where at the time and Hal had been acting strangely indifferent about the situation.
FP had wanted to be furious at Alice for hiding the fact that they shared a son together from him for so long. He really had but as he'd sat there in his office at the Wyrm with Alice watching her sob her heart out, he knew that he couldn't bring himself to be angry at her.
They had both been stupid and young when she had discovered that she was carrying their child inside her. He had definitely not been in any position to take care of another human being back then which was why he completely understood why Alice had done what she did, giving their boy up for adoption.
FP was suddenly jerked from his thoughts when he felt Alice's hand touch his own.
"You okay there, Jonesy? Looked like you were pretty deep in your thoughts for a second."
FP gave her a small smile, assuring her that he was indeed okay before asking her if he could tell her something that he'd been keeping a secret from her for a long time.
"You know that you can always tell me anything, FP. You've always told me the same thing so it's only fair if I do the same for you."
Interlacing his fingers with Alice's slender ones and resting their joined hands on his leg, he took a deep breath before proceeding to tell her what he'd been hiding from her since he'd heard from Fred that Amelia had been kidnapped almost a decade prior.
"When Amelia first went missing, I um I got a call from Fred telling me what had happened. I kinda freaked out some when he told me because I just knew that you were probably going out of your mind with worry. That you were likely worried sick about where she might be and who could have taken her. I ended up getting my most trusted Serpents together and we all scoured the entire Southside to see if we could find any clues as to what could have happened to her. Fred, he knew that me and the Serpents were out there looking for her but I asked him not to mention anything to you about it."
Alice could feel tears pricking her ice blue eyes as she listened to FP talking.
She didn't really know what to say.
To hear that he had done what he could from the Southside to help her try and find her youngest back then was- well, she couldn't help but smile at the fact that he had gone out of his way to do that for her.
Squeezing his hand slightly which caused FP to look at her, Alice sent a small smile in his direction.
"I-I think that it was incredibly sweet of you to do that for me, Jonesy. You have no idea how much it means to me. I will always be grateful to you for that. You didn't have to do that and yet you did."
FP smiled back at the woman that had owned his heart for a very long time before he leaned forward, pressing a gentle kiss against her forehead.
Still holding tightly to FP's hand, Alice laid her head on his shoulder and the two sat there silently, just simply enjoying each other's company as they listened the sound of the trickling water of the river nearby.
A/N: Another chapter of this story is done!
What do you guys think about this one?
What could the secret that Alice is keeping from FP possibly be since it's now confirmed that he is actually aware of Charles's existence?
What do you all think of what FP shared with Alice about him and some of the Serpents trying to help look for Amelia when she first went missing?
