Seeing the beautiful display of colors, I pause my reading for a moment to enjoy the view. I get up from the couch and move closer to the window, taking in the breathtaking scene of the sunset against the city skyline.

The glass panes of the window reflect the sun's rays, creating a mirror-like effect that bathes the apartment in a warm, orangey-red hue. The room feels even cozier and more relaxing as the light dances across the walls and furniture, creating a peaceful ambiance.

I spend a few moments admiring the beauty of the sunset before reluctantly turning back to my book. But the sight of the fading sunlight through the window remains etched in my mind, making the moment all the more special.

With a craving for something savory, I decide to cook a simple but delicious dinner of eggs and bacon. I gather the ingredients, including some runny eggs and crispy bacon, and start preparing the meal.

The sizzling sounds of the bacon in the pan fill the kitchen as the aroma of cooking oil and salty bacon wafts through the air. Soon enough, I have a plate of fluffy eggs and perfectly cooked bacon ready to be enjoyed.

I sit down at the dining table and dig into my homemade dinner. The eggs are cooked just the way I like them—sunny side up, with the yolk still runny. The crispy bacon adds a satisfying crunch with every bite, the salty and savory flavors complementing each other perfectly.

Satisfaction washes over me as I savor each mouthful of the delicious meal. It's moments like these, enjoying the simple pleasure of a well-cooked dinner, that I appreciate the most.

As I finish the last bite, I push the empty plate away, feeling content and satisfied. The kitchen is filled with the lingering aromas of cooking, and the stillness of the apartment only emphasizes the tranquility of the moment.

Feeling satisfied after the simple yet delicious meal, I decided to take a shower before heading to work. I make my way to the bathroom and turn on the water, letting the hot spray wash away any lingering stress and tiredness.

As I'm in the shower, the distinct sound of the apartment door opening breaks the silence in the apartment. I recognize the familiar chime of the door, signaling that Olive has returned home from her lab.

After finishing my shower, I turn off the water and grab a towel to dry myself off. I step out of the shower, wrap the towel around my wet hair, and make my way to the sink.

There, I take a few moments to freshen up, splashing some water on my face and tidying my hair. Once done, I get dressed, choosing a comfortable outfit for my graveyard shift at the minimart.

I exit the bathroom feeling refreshed and energized. I grab my work bag from the bedroom and head out to the living area, where I find Olive. I approach her and say a casual goodbye before leaving for my shift at the minimart.

With my bag securely slung over my shoulder, I head out of the apartment building and make my way to the nearby bus stop. The cool evening breeze gently caresses my face, bringing a sense of tranquility as I wait for the bus to arrive.

As luck would have it, the bus arrives just a few minutes later, and I board the vehicle. The bus is relatively empty at this hour, and I claim a seat near the back, securing my work bag in the seat next to me.

I continue my journey to the minimart, taking the public bus to get there. The engine's hum and the vehicle's gentle bounce create a soothing ambiance as I sit quietly on the bus, looking out the window at the city lights passing by.

I reminisce about the events of the day so far, the peaceful moments I shared with Olive and the anticipation of my upcoming shift. With a deep breath, I mentally prepare myself for the shift ahead.
