The next morning, Cellina woke up with swollen red eyes resembling a panda. Today was a significant day. Fleur and Alessio were finally going to get married, binding their destinies together forever. They were about to make vows to each other, promising to stay together until death parted them.
" I would protect you both come what may from any situation or nemesis and would also go beyond my limits for you Fluer. I promise." Cellina had promised to Fluer.
As she finally returned to consciousness after a heavy night, she found herself securely and protectively held in the arms of her CAPO.
Celina admired Adrian while he was asleep tracing patterns on his arms with a feather-light touch. His strong tattooed arms enveloped her, making her feel safe and cherished, a feeling she hadn't experienced in a long time. His face, usually so stern, commanding, and resembling an angry ape, looked peaceful and serene in his sleep. She gently traced the line of his jaw with her eyes, memorizing every detail of his features.
"How can someone so powerful look so gentle?" she thought. "I've never felt this way before. This sense of belonging, of being protected... it's overwhelming."
For a moment, Cellina allowed herself to savor the warmth of his embrace, the steady rhythm of his breathing, and the sound of his heartbeat in the silent room was like a soothing melody, a rhythmic assurance. But then, a sudden realization jolted her back to reality.
"What am I doing?" she chastised herself silently. "He's my boss. My CAPO. I'm supposed to protect him, not get attached."
She carefully extricated herself from his hold, not wanting to wake him. Sitting up, she looked down at him, her mind racing.
"I can't afford to feel this way. My duty is to him, to his safety, to the family. Personal feelings have no place in this life. If it comes down to it, I have to be ready to give my life to him. That's the oath I took."
Her heart ached at the thought of distancing herself from him, but she knew it was necessary. She was aware that attachment to Adrian would cost her sanity and her hard-earned peace from those nightmares. Most importantly, she feared that her suppressed emotions and numb heart would come rushing back if she allowed herself to love Adrian, even for a moment.
"Adrian," she whispered, more to herself than to the sleeping man beside her. "I'll protect you with everything I have, but I can't let my feelings get in the way. You mean too much to me, but I have to keep this professional. For both our sakes."
She stood up and steeled herself for the role she was to assume after the wedding. However, before she could step into that role, she had another important duty to fulfill: being the Maid of Honor at Fleur and Alessio's wedding.
Taking a deep breath, Cellina moved to get ready for the day. She opened her closet to reveal the beautiful tangerine gown Fleur had chosen for her. The dress was stunning, a floor-length masterpiece with delicate lace detailing and a fitted bodice that flattered her figure. The vibrant tangerine color contrasted perfectly with her fair skin, making her look radiant and elegant.
She slipped into the dress, feeling its smooth fabric glide over her skin. The skirt flowed gracefully around her legs, giving her an ethereal appearance. Cellina admired herself in the mirror for a moment before turning her attention to her hair and makeup.
Cellina didn't care for heavy makeup, preferring a more natural look. She applied a light layer of foundation to even out her complexion, followed by a touch of blush to add a hint of color to her cheeks. She chose a subtle eyeshadow in a warm, earthy tone, accentuating her icy blue eyes without overpowering them. A swipe of mascara made her lashes look longer and fuller, and a nude lip color completed her look, adding a soft, feminine touch.
