Kazuha's POV

I walked back to class and plopped down in my seat. "Bro, Scara, I swear I'm gonna beat your ass."

"Hello to you too," Scaramouche replied, glancing up from his phone.

"Dude, I asked you if I smelled bad, and you said no, but I REEKED! I almost got caught because of that," I groaned, rubbing my temples.

"Ohhhh, that's what you meant," Scaramouche said, looking confused for a second before shrugging.

"Honestly, I wasn't even listening to you." Scaramouche leaned back in his chair, clearly unfazed.

"Alright, whatever, walk home by yourself tonight then." I leaned back, crossing my arms.

"Bruh, chill." He shot me a look.

"I'm just stressed, man... about the whole Y/N thing." I sighed, feeling my heart race again.

"Oh, shit, I forgot about that," Xiao cut in, his voice slightly raised in surprise.

"Did you talk to her?" Xiao asked, clearly interested.

"Yeah, for the first time... I was so stressed. I swear, I was so red. I'm 100% sure she noticed." I rubbed the back of my neck, feeling embarrassed just thinking about it.

Scaramouche snorted. "You're such a moron. Liked her since the third grade, and today was your first time speaking to her?"

"Okay, stop being Scaramouche for a second," I snapped.

"Yo, so what's the deal now? You gotta tutor her or something?" Scaramouche asked, shifting the conversation.

"Yeah, I do..." I paused. "But you won't believe what I gotta do now."

Y/N's POV

The rest of the day went by without any major surprises. I walked in the door as soon as I got home, rushing to find my mom. "Mooommmm!" I yelled, hoping she was around.

"What now?" My mom came down the stairs with a raised eyebrow.

"WHAT WAS THAT?!" I threw my hands up in dramatic frustration. "You're supposed to be on my side, my number one fan!"

"She's a good kid, Y/N. I know his family, and you guys have been at the same school forever," my mom said, trying to calm me down.

"But I DON'T KNOW HIM, though!" I whined, feeling totally put out. "Sorry, I'm yelling, but STILL."

"You're gonna have to, sweetheart." She grinned, totally unfazed.

"MOM!" I complained. "I didn't even do anything that bad!"

"Yeah, yeah. You should be thankful I'm not like other parents," she replied nonchalantly, grabbing her tea.

"Okay, fine, you're right. Love you, but I DO NOT need a mentor," I grumbled.
