Author's note - I don't own Marvel so the only people I own are Astrid, her family, the Nameless, and maybe a few characters later on if I come up with them. Enjoy! and please review/comment.

Astrid POV.

I'm not sure how long I've been here, but I know it's been a long time. The people who captured me never gave me a name to call them. I just call them 'The Nameless'. Whoever they are, they don't like me. I don't know what I ever did to them, but they have done horrible things to me. Just this morning, they had put me into a new machine that shocked me until I blacked out. Then, they brought me into a new room, and locked the door. The room began to fill with gas, and when I touched it, it burned me. When I woke up again, I was chained to the wall, as normal. My hands are in 'anti-power cuffs' as I call them, and those are what are chained to the wall. I call them 'anti-power cuffs' because they don't allow me to use my powers to fight back. I remembered the first day I woke up here...

*Flashback*

I blinked open my eyes against the harsh white light, to find myself in a strange room. Suddenly the door burst open, and 2 men came in. I couldn't remember where I was, or who they were, or how I got here. And then I did. I tried to blast them with wind, but that didn't work, water and fire were no good either, and the floors were metal, not earth, so I couldn't use that. Instead I flailed out with my hands and feet, trying to connect with the thugs. That proved to be a bad idea because then more men came in, and they tasered me.

*End Flashback*

Ever since then, they taser me if I fight back. I swear, one day, I will get out of here, and then I will never have to see this horrible place again.

3ish YEAR LATER

I was strapped to a table, and there was a huge machine hanging above me. The "doctors", or as I called them, the torturers, were all safe in the room on the other side of the one way mirror. I have been planning this escape for days, and I just hope that I can pull it off. I had done some acting, and found out that they always leave me unguarded for a couple of minutes after I'm knocked out from the pain. I'm jolted out of my thoughts by a shock running through my body. I could feel my body convulsing against my will, and I couldn't help but open my mouth in a scream. Soon, I pretended to black out, and I could feel the pain stop. I was still twitching uncontrollably, but at least the worst part had stopped.

"This is the quickest that she has blacked out, I think she might be losing her strength." I heard a gruff voice say.

"I don't care, I was told to test her stamina." I heard the familiar voice of my main "doctor" snap back.

"I'm not saying go easier on her, I'm just saying maybe you should give her a little bit more food. The boss wants her alive for his purposes." The first voice answered.

"Yes, yes, well lets get her in 10 minutes. She will have taken in the access electricity by then." The doc replied, and I heard the door slam shut.

I quickly took out the bobby pin that I had been holding in my hand, and began to pick the locks on the straps. After a few minutes of twisting the pin, I was free. I slowly walk to the door, and open it a crack. Looking through, I see that it's clear. Slowly I creep out, peering around the corner. I see a few guards, and I quickly take them out with pressure points. They won't remember what happened that way. Sneaking through the quiet halls, I finally find an exit door. But, just, the alarm went off.

"Attention all guards, prisoner 160127 has escaped, I repeat, prisoner 160127 has escaped." I heard a voice say over the announcements.

I paled considerably. "Ah scrap" I said, and I bolted out the door. Running, I jumped the small fence. For the first time in a long time, I was free. Of course the nameless wouldn't give up that easily. I escape into a forest, the shouts and sirens slowly fading into the background. I still have on the anti - power cuffs, and they aren't going to help at all. Since I can't use my powers surviving will be hard. It's winter, so there isn't any fruit growing on the trees, and I'm cold because my outfit only consists of a white, cotton t-shirt, and matching yoga pants. My feet kill, I'm barefoot, and my feet are scratched, swollen, and frozen. I'm not sure how long I'll last, or how I'll get back to New York, back to my... 'Right, no more family, those jerks killed them'. At that thought I falter in my running, and horrible thoughts start to run through my head. *Where am I? What if I can't get home? Do I even have a home anymore? What if I die out here? How am I going to survive?* I find a clump of bushes, curl up underneath them, and fall into a cold dreamless sleep.
