Author's note - I don't own Marvel, only my own characters.

I woke up to blinding lights, I was on a bed I didn't recognize, and I could hear movements and sounds off to my right. I slowly sat up, my head spinning, to see that I was in a pale blue room. There was an open window with blue curtains, and I could hear laughing from outside. It was the curtains that I had heard moving. I was alone, and there was only a chair in the room. I heard voices outside, and they stopped right outside of the door. I quickly laid back down, a mistake because I could feel the whole room turn when I did, and pretended that I was still asleep. The door opened, and I heard someone walk in, followed by someone else in a wheelchair.

"How much longer do you think she will be asleep Charles?" I heard the woman from before, Storm, voice.

"I do not know Ororo, I will wait here for a bit longer, I do believe you have a training session with Evan, am I right?" I heard a new voice say.

"Yes, I should be going, you're right." Storm answered, and I could hear her leave.

"I know you're awake." I heard the new voice say, but this time it was inside of my head.

"How did you do that?" I exclaimed sitting up, only wincing slightly as the room spun, "Who are you, and where am I?" I asked wearily to the new voice which I could now place with a bald man in a wheelchair. He had kind eyes that crinkled when he laughed at my questions.

"I am Professor Charles Xavier, and you are at my school for gifted children. I would like to give you the invitation to stay here, and learn how to use your powers correctly." He said, "I can give you some time if you need it Astrid." He added.

"Yes please," I said, and as he was about to wheel out of the room, I realized something. "Wait!" I said, and he turned to face me, "You never answered my question, and how did you know my name?" I asked carefully.

"That is simple my dear," he replied, "I am a telepath." and with that he rolled out of the room. *So he was a telepath, and this was his school for gifted children. Based on what he said, then this must be a school for people with powers like me! Would I be safe from the nameless here? I don't even know where I am! And the Nameless might be tracking me even now! UGHHHH! This is so confusing! Maybe the Professor could help me decide, I thinkI can trust him, and he probably has already read my mind to make sure that I won't harm the other students, so he probably already knows about my family. I think I'll ask him about what I should do.* Just as I had finished, the door opened, and the professor rolled in.

"So, have you come to a decision yet?" The Professor asked.

"Well, I was wondering if you could help me with the final decision. I just don't know what would be best." I confessed.

"Hmm, well, you could always let me into your mind and I can help you to decide based on your memories what I believe would be best, but the choice is still yours." He answered after a few minutes of silence.

"Oh! I thought you had already gone through my memories!" I replied surprised.

"Why would I do that? It is your thoughts, and you might not want me to go through them." The professor said sincerely.

"I guess I just thought that you would do it to make sure that I wouldn't harm anyone when I woke up." I answered sheepishly.

"I understand your reasoning, but I would only do that to someone who I know is an enemy." He said honestly.

"Alright, let's do this." I said, preparing myself.

"I will need you to relax, as some of the memories may not be the best, based on the condition that you came to us in." The professor cautioned.
