Chapter 19: The Shadow Figure's Identity

As I lay there, trying to defend myself against Elizabeth's kicks, I couldn't help but wonder who the shadow figure was. Who was this mysterious person who had saved me from Elizabeth's clutches?

Just as I was starting to lose consciousness, the shadow figure appeared again. This time, it was closer, and I could see its features more clearly.

It was a woman, tall and gaunt, with long silver hair and piercing green eyes. She was dressed in a flowing black gown, and her presence seemed to radiate an otherworldly energy.

"Who are you?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

The woman smiled, and her eyes seemed to gleam with a mischievous light. "I am Arachne," she said. "And I have been waiting for you."

Arachne? The name seemed to echo in my mind, but I couldn't quite place it.

As Elizabeth continued to attack me, Arachne raised a hand and pointed at her. Elizabeth froze, her eyes wide with fear.

"You will not harm him," Arachne said, her voice low and menacing. "He is under my protection."

Elizabeth snarled, but she seemed to be unable to move. Arachne turned to me and helped me to my feet.

"Come," she said. "We must get out of here. The curse is growing stronger, and we don't have much time."

As we made our way through the winding corridors, I couldn't help but ask Arachne who she was and what she wanted.

"I am an ancient being," she said. "A weaver of fate and destiny. And I have been sent to help you."

But why? I wanted to ask. What did she want from me?

Before I could ask any more questions, we heard the sound of footsteps behind us. Elizabeth had broken free from Arachne's spell, and she was not alone.
