It is cold, it is dark. Recycled air fills the space with its familiar tinge of sour and dampness. Faint beams of crimson light shine filtered through faded windows and reflect off cold metallic walls.

There is someone, sleeping. He is wearing the bottom half of a standard issue Ground Troop uniform. Nothing but a thin hurriedly manufactured blanket drapes his rising and falling chest.

The dimmer of the suns continues to rise, with it, more of the faint light illuminates the room. The light slowly inches up on the sleeping figure as it traces his scales. Giving the room a faint sheen.

It soon reaches his closed eyes, sealed shut from a long and arduous workday. Basking in the sunlight of a now brightly lit room, he begins to stretch.

A yawn escapes a canine lined jaw.

He quickly sits up rubbing his eyes, and begins his morning routine. As he had done many times before.

Lazily tumbling across the room, he turns off the cooler with a flick. And anchors himself up against the window sill.

He stares longingly through the airtight glass.

Here's what he sees:

A sprawling landscape of metal pipes and concrete walls. From A mid-aerial view of a Transgalactic Military and Enforcement Base.

It's rather dull.. Given, it wasn't exactly meant to look pleasing at all. Large metal towers that appear to be rather unbalanced but are held stable by some invisible force are everywhere. Exposed generators, stacked buildings. Intersecting suspended walkways with flimsy railings. Yep the whole shebang.

What really caught his eye was just beyond this engineering nightmare of wires and rebar.

...

The shoreline..

Pristine crystal clear waters that border pale white sand shores lined with the most vibrant corals and oddly shaped shells.

It was a stark contrast to all the drab of the Araxamean Observation Bay 1-E. Just pure nature.

...

Anddd then immediately an aqua-cruiser accidentally beaches due to incompetence and smashes into the delicate onshore coral reefs.

This broke his trance instantly and reminded him of his duties to the stations. Day-dreaming on site was punishable by 3-days of canteen duty. With minor disciplinary action.

He placed a taloned hand over his snout and let out a loud groan.

...

He gets up from his mattress and creaks open the door of the excuse of a closet from the side of the room. There's a.. "Semi-clean" Ground Enforcer Uniform hanging on a horizontal pole.

Z'kri: *sniff* *recoils in disappointment in themself* "Eh.. Good enough..?" He contemplates.

Whatever, he's probably gonna be late for morning roll call if he thinks about the questionable sanitation of equipment.

Shambling around his room like a zombie, he finally manages to pull the plated lolchest piece over his face. And promptly exits the more than humble accommodation.

...

The double metal doors open with a light swish into a large hallway. It's unusually quiet..

Z'kri: "mhmm.. I am definitely late."
