Hunter Brooks skated down his driveway and waved to mom and dad.

"Have a good day, son! Love you!"

Hunter's mom said, her heart pounding for Hunter to get there safely. Hunter raced to the school, knowing that the first day of 9th grade was going to be a hit. He rode his skateboard and arrived shortly. He showed his tricks to everyone around him, including his best friend, Bethany.

She was his favorite friend, in fact, she was his best friend. Before Hunter could say hello, he heard the sound of thunder. He raced to the school and Bethany ran.

"Bethany,"

Hunter shouted, picking up his skateboard and covering his face. Dust started surrounding them and Hunter and Bethany were running as fast as they could. The school building was destroyed. The tornado was heading towards Hunter.

Since Hunter knew a lot about tornados, he ran up to Bethany, still catching his breath.

"Bethany, I need you to lay down in the grass as far down as possible and cover your face. It's for safety. Stay here while I go and find shelter."

Bethany did as Hunter told and cried.

"Hunter, please come back! I don't want you to leave me! Promise me you're still going to be there."

Hunter got down on the ground and put his hand on Bethany's back.

"I promise. Whatever you do, don't leave until I'm back."
