A few weeks later around 1:00 am, Nancy had woke up to a sharp pain in her hand. 'What the' she thought looking down at her hands. Nancy started to see a griffin burning into her had. "Ahhh" Nancy cried quietly so she wouldn't wake anyone.
Only one person woke up,and that was Hugo. Hugo looked at Nancy with a concerned way, "Nancy, NANCY are you ok?" He asked with a worried look in his eyes. Nancy looked at him then back down at her hand and back up at him, "I-i don't kn.....Shhh ah!!" Nancy doubled over in pain holding her hand.
Hugo saw and ran over to her bed, he grabbed her hand. His eyes got big. "Nancy did you burn yourself? What is that?" Nancy looked up at him with tears in her eyes,"Its OK,its ok" Hugo whispered, taking her head and pushing it to his chest.
Nancy looked up at him.
"Why is this happening to me and not you?, Its not fair! whats happening to me?" Hugo looked down at her. He whipped the tears out of her eyes. "Its ok, i know how you feel." Hugo said with sympathy in his voice. Nancy confused, looked up at him "What?.....do you mean this has happened to you?" Hugo looked down at his shoulder. Nancy sat up and moved his sleeve up and say that there was griffin burned into his shoulder. "There's another thing i have to show you" Hugo whispered, Nancy slowly nodded her head with a confused look in her eyes.
Hugo walked over to his bed and took a wand out of his pillow case. It was about 8 or 9 inches long and 1 inch thick. It had a cracked diamond on the tip of it, almost as if someone had tried to smash it or it had been dropped to many times and it the ground wrong. As Hugo walked back over to her bed he was hitting the wand on his hand like you would a pen if it had run out of ink."This is how i got mine i think. I don't really know. All i remember is that when i was little i woke up to the same pain that you are feeling. And it was this thing burning it into my arm." he said with a small smile and chuckle. "So what your trying to say is that we have some weird power that no one else has?" Nancy asked whit a sarcastic tone in her voice.
Hugo looked up at her with a smile "That is exactly what i'm saying."
