Night, silence fell.

Stars dotted the sky, the moon hid behind clouds.

Su Mo tossed and turned in her bed, she had too much water drinking hot pot at dinner, and what's more maddening than needing the bathroom in the middle of the night?

She irritably threw off her covers and hazily sat up, putting on a coat and squinting as she stepped outside.

As soon as she opened the door, she bumped straight into someone.

"Ahhhhh!" Xia Miaomiao was frightened.

"Miaomiao, it's me, Su Mo..." Su Mo said weakly.

Only then did Xia Miaomiao recognize Su Mo, breathing a sigh of relief, "Su Mo, you scared me to death, why don't you keep your eyes open when you walk?"

"I'm not fully awake, needing the bathroom in the middle of the night really is annoying." Su Mo still squinted as she spoke.

"Me too, let's go together."

The two headed towards the toilet, but after a few steps, the sound of sobbing seemed to come from the corner up ahead.

Xia Miaomiao froze, stopping in her tracks.

Su Mo was still squinting, not really noticing Xia Miaomiao's behavior, and kept walking forward. Xia Miaomiao grabbed her.

"Su Mo, wait, did you hear crying?" Xia Miaomiao was oddly afraid.

Only then did Su Mo open her eyes wider, looking at Xia Miaomiao, "Crying?"

"Just...around that corner." Xia Miaomiao pointed ahead.

Su Mo looked over, but the crying had already disappeared.

Suddenly, a black shadow darted out from the corner, shooting between their feet.

"Ahhhhhhh!" The two were so frightened they screamed and stomped their feet.

Su Mo reflexively kicked out, punting the black shadow far away.

The black shadow scurried on the ground, a pair of slimy green eyes staring at Su Mo and Xia Miaomiao.

Xia Miaomiao was scared witless, cowering behind Su Mo's back, shivering, "Su Mo, i-is it a g-ghost?"

Su Mo looked closely and breathed a sigh of relief, "It looks like a black cat, don't be afraid, no such things as ghosts in this world! And you call yourself modern!"

"That black cat...isn't it too creepy?" Xia Miaomiao was still terrified, "Black cats are really scary in horror movies!"

"It's fine, let's hurry and pee." Su Mo soothed, pulling Xia Miaomiao towards the corner.

Just after turning the corner, the two saw a figure crouching on the ground, head buried in his knees.

Hair draped over his head, black tresses falling to the ground.

"Ahhhhhhh!!!!" Hugging each other tightly, the two girls screamed and jumped again!

After screaming, the two realized this seemed to be...a person??

The sound of sorrowful weeping drifted over, scaring their legs numb.

"Hey, who are you? Why are you crying here?" Su Mo worked up the courage to ask.
