Hatred. (Newt x Reader)

~The key?~

~In the morning~

Alby was in the maze with Minho and Thomas.

I was worried, I had a feeling something bad was gonna happen.

I stuck to my job, treating patients, and talking with Jeff for most of the day.

That was until it was time for our break.

I walked out and into the woods to look for these berries I heard were good for keeping you full.

So I could snack on them if I get hungry while working.

I was in a small clearing with a small stream following back into the woods.

As I walked deeper into the woods

I saw Newt.

It looked as if he was collecting some fertilizer for the garden back in the glade.

I walked up to him "Hi Newt, What are you doing?"

He quickly shot his glance up to me "Well hey there greenie! I'm just trying to get some more fertilizer before we go see if Alby and the others made it back safely.

I nodded "Oh right, with alby going into the maze do you think he'll be okay?" I asked collecting some of the berries near Newt

"Yeah, I think so, I mean Alby was the very first one of all of us in here. Meaning he spent a whole month alone in the glade." Newt kept shoveling

He has a good point, Even though I never really thought about it that way.

It was getting late, meaning Alby and the others would be back soon.

"We should head back." Newt said while wiping sweat off of his forehead

"Yeah I agree. Wanna walk back together?" I asked while putting the berries into my small pale

"Sure, Greenie." He smirked a little before walking ahead

I followed close to him

It wasn't long before we made it back
to the glade. We put our tools away and walked towards the entrance of the maze where everyone else was already waiting.

we waited.

anddd waited.

"are they gonna make it??" Chuck broke the silence

"Yes." Newt replied firmly.

"How do you know." Chuck pleaded

"Come on chuck, Newt knows everything he's second in command." Fry joked

But Newt didn't smile, he looked worried.

The maze doors would close any minute.

But just then.

"There! look it's them!" Chuck shouted and pointed towards the maze

Everyone's eyes were drawn to the 3 of them.

something was off. Alby was being dragged.

He was unconscious.

Everyone was shouting for them to hurry

They were so close.

With a couple inches of the maze being open the three make it.

Newt walks over to them and kneels close to the ground by Alby "What the bloody hell happened."

"He got stung. We need to get him to the Medjacks hut immediately." Thomas spoke in between breaths

"Alright, you heard him, Y/n and Jeff come on! Everyone else get back to work before it gets to late." Newt helped pick up Alby with Minho and Thomas

In the medjack hut, Alby was laying on the bed still unconscious.

Thomas and Minho were off eating dinner but Newt was here watching over Alby with Jeff and I.

Alby was breathing, but rapidly.

"What do you suggest we do?" Jeff asked Newt while making some sort of medicine to try and help Alby's wounds.

"We will take turns watching over him." Newt wouldn't even look in our direction.

Something was bothering him.

Thomas walked in, "Newt and y/n I need to talk to the both of you."

"Okay, we can come out there for a second" Newt replied grabbing my hand and leading me out with him

I blushed a little at the touch of his hand.

"So, I needed to tell you guys that minho and I think we found a way out.. but we're not exactly sure. we found this." Thomas hands Newt a weirdly shaped metal thing.

but, it had the number 7 on it, whatever that means.

"So? what does this mean?" I chimed in

"it means.. we could have a way out." Thomas said quietly to both me and newt

"Well? aren't you going to tell the others??" I insisted

"If Alby doesn't get better, I think we should leave as soon as we can but I think we should wait and see what happens with Alby." Newt said while rubbing his head

"Alright, i'll let the others know." Thomas replied walking out of the MedJack hut

Newt and I walk back into the room where Alby was laying.

Jeff looked worried like Alby wasn't going to make it.

Which, he probably won't..
