"I love you."
"I wish I could say it back."--------------------
Joseph couldn't find himself falling asleep that night.Earlier that day, he, Lisa Lisa, and Caesar had a little run in with Kars. Fortunately, he didn't confiscate the Red Stone of Aja then and there. Still, that didn't lay rest to anyone's agitation. The battle against Wamuu and Kars was inevitable, and a few hours of rest wouldn't do much for Joseph. He was too neurotic to even get an ounce of sleep. The sound of his heartbeat was pounding in his ears, and he felt Wamuu's ring tightening inside of him. To deal with these irritations, he decided to take himself for a walk.
Joseph hadn't explored much of the hotel. It wasn't anything luxurious, but it wasn't abysmal either. He ended up maundering out onto the balcony. The cold breeze of the night air helped to calm him down, and the sight of the illuminated city under the night sky was beautiful.
The only thing that made the sight better was the blond-haired Italian man who was staring dreamily out into the night.
The zephyr faintly ruffled his hair, but he seemed unbothered by the world around him. Joseph wondered if Caesar was as nervous as he was. He began creeping up on his friend, his steps quiet.
"Don't bother trying to sneak up on me, JoJo," Caesar chided. It was like he recognized Joseph's presence, his senses not unlike a wild animal.
"That's not what I was trying to do!" Joseph whined. He walked to Caesar, who was leaning on the railing. "So, Caesarino... whatcha doing out here?"
Caesar grimaced. "Don't call me that. I'm just out because I couldn't fall asleep."
"Yeah, me too." Joseph replied. He realized him and Caesar hadn't held a normal conversation in a while. The past two days were nothing short of fighting and traveling. This was the perfect chance to talk normally with the guy. "So, ahem... after we beat the Pillar Men, do you have any plans...?" Joseph asked, tugging at his own shirt collar.
"We," Caesar echoed, like the thought of their survival was intangible. "Well, I'm thinking of heading back to Venice, of course. I'll probably go back to training under Lisa Lisa- although, I know I can't be her student forever- and it'll be nice to see Suzi Q again. And you?"
The brunette shrugged, unsure of his future. "Man, it seems like you have a lot figured out already. I mean, I'm thinking of going back to America, but it was really nice getting to know Lisa Lisa, and Suzi Q, and Loggins and Messina, and..." Joseph's gaze lowered down and met Caesar's eyes. They were green, like emeralds, and they complimented his blond hair nicely. The pink triangle birthmarks right under them also created a pretty contrast. "...you. I-I mean, meeting all of you! It was really nice here in Europe, so, uh, it'll be a shame when I go!"
