Black clouds embedded the dark grey sky. Letting gentle rain scatter and bounce on the soon to be muddy road.

Zaul understood what his mother meant, he truly couldn't run from it. Not from the sound. Not from the cold that followed from the cool breeze pressing his shirt against his skin.

He couldn't even escape the sadness that it filled him with, just from watching the water quickly sink into the deprived white dirt.

Is that what it will be like for me? Will my body really so easily become nothing more than dirt?

Shaking his head, or shrugging off the problem wasn't going to make it vanish. He needed to face it no matter what. By any means necessary.

Zaul?

The voice that reverberated within his mind was calm and serene. He sighed knowing all to well what this was going to be about.

What is it Court?

Zaul's pace shifted into a slower rhythm waiting for his brothers apology.

You know I told her do you not?

Betrayal still radiated within his inner beast. Back stabbing your own brother was something frowned upon by any one. Especially him.

It was obvious. Mothers tone is what awoke me to how she came to know. That woman is a snake Courtney. How could you have told her?

Zaul let it out the sense of hurt from his brothers treason.

Why do you hate her so Zaul? She is still our mother. Respect her.

Mother? She was no mother.

That woman did not care about them. She worried, but only over whether her body guards where strong and able. If she sensed a disturbance with power, then and only then would she care to notice.

A quick pull of pain within his heart broke through, his brother was asking for forgiveness by submitting to Zaul's dominance.

Courtney stepped to far in, breaking through Zaul's heart gaining access to Zauls thoughts and feelings without permission. Looking deep into his feel of hopelessness with the loss of his immortal being.

Courtney! Cease your actions. My mind and personal thoughts are only meant to be mine.

He permitted an angered growl to press out of his mouth, knowing his brother wouldn't be able to hear it.

Dearest brother forgive my intrusion. I did not mean to pry. My intentions where to merely allow you to feel the pain I was feeling for  the double-crossing I mindlessly caused you. The exception is that, once my own mind entered yours your private walls easily broke down.

Was I truly becoming weak enough to allow a younger wolf to gain full access to my private thoughts?

Perhaps Zaul you did not expect me to apologize? That is why my own mind must of been able to easily overpower your defenses.

It wasn't that. Zaul could no longer put enough force and determination behind the seal of his hearts thoughts and that of his dominant brain.

Fear released within him in shocking waves. His barrier was free for all to see within him.

His walls have never been broken. Not by Courtney. Not by his Mothers domination.

It is fine Court. Please just leave me be. My hunger is rising.

No matter how much pain his body would have to endure to shift, tonight he had to succeed with the full process. He was fragile and weak from lack of fresh blood and meat.

Will you be able to? If you can not allow me to bring you my kill.

Zaul was no pup. His body shook with rage. How dare him!

Are you going to grind up the meat within your ghastly jaws for me as well Courtney!

His brother's laughter boomed within Zaul's head.

Well since you asked...

Anger raked throughout his body shaking and stretching his skin.

ENOUGH!

The fearsome yell his extending jaw. The stentorian voice he produced mixed with a large growl. Resounding  both within his brother's head and withing the lone road, shaking the ground.

Pain entered his body releasing bones from joints as thick fur broke flesh soaking with his own blood.

Zaul understood what his brother had done.

Thank you Courtney.

Courtney aided to his change by enraging him. Not wise, but it had worked

Not a problem. Just do not force the change any more. If you do, no longer will your human side be powerful enough to re-emerge. You know that don't you? That is why I can smell your blood. Your body suffers a great deal to shift. Your healing is not fast enough to stop the blood before it emerges as the change occurs.

No one needed to remind him . Zaul already knew the consequences of forcing his frail body to shift.

He did not want to turn into nothing more than a mere wolf.

Just how close are you Court?

What do you mean?

Courtney was clearly underestimating him.

You may come out now brother I am not angered.

The sound of feet hitting ground and muffled breathing sounded from a miles distance.

Clever Zaul so you are still not as weak as I thought.

This was getting out of hand. He did not need a baby sitter, but another set of teeth and jaws would come in handy.

Try to keep up Zaul.
