The night blankets around me
Cold as snow and warm like sun
Silence interrupted from crickets
Someone walking where I don't see
Sitting here is normally fun
But I feel like there are eyes
Could just be my brother below
Laying on his bed as he tries
Sleep can't find him either
Maybe he could take a breather
My sister shifts in her room
My computer gives my face that eerie glow
So easily caught
Sleeping could be my doom
Hope the typing isn't loud
Mom could hear my heartbeat
Staying like this isn't allowed
I like being awake
Because sleep is too nice
But for my body's sake
And my friends' pleas
I suppose I can try
To close my eyes
And fall asleep
