Chapter 5

After we finished breakfast, me, Marissa and Isabella, we went shopping to buy  some clothes for me. Once we were done shopping we went to the food section to eat. we ordered our food and drinks and then started to eat.

"Is there anything else you need dear".asked Marissa.

"No thank you.You have already done so much for me. Thank you very much." I said 

"Sweetie I have told you so many times you don't have to thank me OK". I feel so useless as I can't repay her.

"OK" I say smiling and  Marissa smiles back.

"Hey you guys are forgetting me over here." said Isabella angrily which made me and  Marissa laugh."

No how can  we forget you Bella" I said smiling.

Once we finished eating, we got into Marissa car and went home.

As we were in the car I thought I might ask Marissa if I could get  job here. so when we reached home and Isabella went to her room., me and Marissa sat down and then I asked her.

"Marissa?" I said 

"Yes sweetie?" replied Marissa 

"Is there a job that I could get around here." I said hoping that I could.

"Well as your 18 I am sure you could get a job. But why do you need one? I mean you can  get a job but if this is about repaying me forget about it." said Marissa . I just looked away.

Victoria" said Marissa angrily.

"Fine but let me so  I can at least earn some money because you and I both know that I will have to leave one day . Marissa I need to get a job. I came hear to ask for a job but then you took me in and gave me a home and for that I can never repay you because you were there when no one else was. I just wish there was something I could do for you. I know you need money and I can help you until I get settled and find somewhere to stay. I can also help around the cafe."

"OK I will try and find a good job for you." she said smiling. I thanked her and hugged her and went upstairs.

I started to unpack the things that Marissa got me. I knew that no amount of money can  repay all that Marissa has done for me. It feels so unreal, like I'm dreaming and soon I'll wake up to the reality. I felt so weak which I hated about myself because I knew that's what caused me to always suffer in the end. Getting attached to Marissa and Isabella could be the worst decision I make. At that moment I promised myself that to protect both of them, I will leave soon.

After I finished setting everything in the right place I went downstairs and helped Marissa with the customers. There seemed to be a lot of people today. My day went by asking for orders and then serving all the while keeping a large smile on my face. And to tell the truth it was kind of hard, even though it sounded  easy when Marissa told me.

Once I was done clearing the tables after  long and tiring day of work I went to the kitchen to see Marissa cooking something that smelled really delicious. She looked up and  smiled at me as I took a seat and watched her. I always wanted to cook and bake but never learnt how to. I let out a frustrated sigh. Marissa looked up at me worriedly.

"Are you OK sweetie?. You seem tired" Asked Marissa softly.

"No. I'm fine. So what you cooking? I said smiling.

"OK. I'm cooking lasagne. Is that fine sorry because I don't know your favourite food and you helped me so much today thank you. I thought you might not like it. If you don't like it tell me the truth I won't be upset. I mean why would- "

"of course I love it thank you so much. And you don't need to thank me." I said laughing while Marissa sighed in relief. she was happy that I liked it. awww. 

"you think this is funny young lady."said Marissa being angry jokingly.

"No no sorry. I'm really sorry. I didn't me to." I said trying hard not to laugh. I gave her an innocent smile and went to hug her.

she smiled and then laughed."OK I forgive you. Now go call Isabella and say dinner is ready. She has school tomorrow  so I want her to sleep early. Could you drop her off at school tomorrow. I have to get an early start on the cafe. Oh I forgot to tell you I was thinking you should go around town to try and find a job. I've been looking at some but they won't give the job as your only 18. Don't worry you will find a job."

I smiled and went upstairs to call Isabella downstairs. I opened the door to her room to see doing her homework. she's so cute but naughty for leaving her homework to the last minute.

"Hey Bella. Have you not done your homework" I asked 

"I'm just finishing of."said Bella 

"OK come on dinners ready" I said smiling

"YEY!!! finally. Tori could you help me with my homework."

"Of course lets eat and then I'll help you"

"GIRLS, DOWNSTAIRS NOW!" We hear Marissa scream to us from downstairs

"COMING!" Both me and Bella said at the same time and then we both started laughing.

"We said it at the same time" said Bella laughing 

"Yeah" I said smiling.

As we went downstairs I suddenly felt someone watching me. I looked behind to see nothing. I looked through the window to only see pitch black. I was sure that there was something there. I think I was hallucinating I mean there's no other explanation. 

I felt a tug on my sleeve and looked down to see Bella staring at me curiously.

"Tori are you OK" said Bella 

"Yeah I'm fine just looking outside. come on lets go eat"I said smiling softly

"OK" she said running towards the kitchen and pulling me along with her.

I felt so attached to this family even though I've only been here for a few days. I had to find a job so I don't have to rely on others for things. As I sat there eating I thought about the incident that happened what if there was someone watching me? Great I'm over thinking this maybe it was nothing.
