Chapter 6: past lover

Pond's POV

I couldn't sleep at all, as I was thinking too much for no reason. I turned off my alarm and headed to the kitchen to cook something before going to work. I was eating when Phuwin finally woke up.

Phuwin: Why are you up so early?

He said as he scratched his messy hair. Surprisingly, he looked good in the morning.

Pond: I have work, and I cooked you some food.

He sat down beside me, and we both ate as I looked at him curiously.

Phuwin: Why do you keep looking at me? Do you want to ask something?

Pond: I mean, I do have something to ask if you don't mind?

He nodded as he ate his food.

Pond: How do you know Dunk?

He stopped eating, put his spoon down, and looked at me.

Phuwin: Dunk? As in your coworker?

Pond: Yes, Dunk, Dunk Natachai?

Phuwin: He was a friend back in high school.

He said with hesitation.

Pond: Really? For how long were you guys friends?

Phuwin: High school up until 2 years of college.

He continued to eat.

Pond: So it's been 5 years since you haven't seen each other?

He nodded. After eating, I washed the dishes and went to shower. I put on some comfortable clothes and went to brush my teeth when I saw Phuwin looking at me.

Pond: Do you have a question to ask me? Since you're looking at me.

Phuwin: I do.

Pond: What is it?

Phuwin: How's Dunk been doing?

He said as his voice broke down.

Pond: Dunk is doing well. I have to go now. See you later.

I went outside and saw my manager waiting at the lobby.

Manager: Let's go to the car.

We went down to the parking lot and got inside the car as we drove off to the company building. After arriving, I went to the recording studio. I saw Dunk and Joong talking as I went to sit with them. I was scrolling on my phone as Dunk and Joong talked. After a few minutes, Joong got called to record the song.

Pond: Since when have you guys been close?

I said teasingly.

Dunk: Well, since you've been late and gone for 1 hour, maybe that's why.

I laughed as Dunk looked furious.

Pond: Oh, you're Mr. Lover Boy now?

Dunk: Oh, shut up.

Dunk's gaze went straight to Joong singing, and he looked at him lovingly, which I found funny.

Pond: Mr. Chai, you haven't told me that you were in love now?

Dunk didn't hear me as he was too busy looking at Joong. When I laughed, Dunk looked at me annoyed.

Dunk: When will you stop talking? I'm listening to Joong singing.

He smiled at me sarcastically.

Pond: I'll leave you alone then, lover boy.

A few minutes later, Joong was done recording, and we were told to take a break for a few minutes. Joong and Dunk were talking when I remembered something I wanted to ask Dunk.

Pond: Chai, quick question.

Dunk glared at me.

Dunk: What now?

Pond: Do you know anyone named Phuwin?

Dunk's gaze quickly turned to shock when he heard my question.

Dunk: Phuwin? Do you know his full name?

Pond: Wait, I'll try to remember.

Dunk looked like he didn't want to hear, but when I said the name, he didn't believe it.

Pond: Phuwin Tangsakyuen.

Dunk looked speechless and didn't know what to say. He looked like he was almost about to cry.

Dunk: Phuwin? He was one of my exes back in high school.

Me and Joong turned to him in shock at what we heard.

Dunk: Shocked, right? You heard it right. He was my... ex.

Pond: SINCE WHEN? You didn't tell me about him?
