With no one else to go to, you go to Steve for help

Y/n: "Hi Steve, how is it being Captain America?" You fake a smile

Steve clearly seeing thought the facade "Y/n, something is bothering you, what's up."

Y/n: "It's Bucky, its been months and hes not back."

Steve Rogers does the whole Captain America saving thing as seen in Captain America: The First Avenger while you help in the shadows not seen.

After a few more weeks you get worried about the two boys (Steve and Bucky). It's gone into radio silence ever since he left to save the others.

You're at camp trying to distract Peggy from the obvious worry etched in her face but Howard won't shut up about an error in your formula.

Y/n: "Its not 1.65 it's 1.651!"

Howard: "You missed the third step, genius."

Y/n: "No I didn't, grab a paper-"

Peggy's eyes go wide, trying hard not to scream while shaking me before running off.

You're confused until you look at the direction Peggy ran off to and you too drop your argument wuth Howard and run off to Steve and the soldiers coming back. You meet with Bucky's gaze, his face had a bit of dirt and his clothes were grazed but damn were you relieved seeing him safe after so long. And you had to admit his ruffled look was kinda cute.

Y/n: "I was convinced you had died." you say non-chalantly even though your bursting in relief inside

Bucky: "Told you I'd be back doll. Its great to see you."

He pulls you in a hug and for a moment the whole world disappears because you knew that he was safe.

But good things don't last do they?...
