WARNING: TRAVLYN (Travis x Katelyn ship)
Katelyn's POV
The hospital room was silent, except for the rhythmic beeping of the machines monitoring Travis's condition.
I sat by his bedside, with my gaze fixed on his still form. Some tubes and wires snaked from his body, evidence of the battle he had fought and survived.
My heart felt so heavy with regret.
Travis laid there, recovering from his injuries he had sustained during the harrowing ordeal.
I just couldn't shake the feeling that his time was slowly slipping away...
"I should have told you," I whispered to myself, my voice barely audible in the sterile room. "I...should have told you how much you mean to me.."
I reached out tentatively, my fingers brushing against Travis's hand. It was a warm, reassurance that he was still with me, fighting to come back to me.
The memories flooded back to me-moments of laughter, of shared challenges, and of unspoken glances that spoke volumes.
I had always been quick with a quip or retort, but when it came to matters of the heart, I had faltered.
"Now you're here," I murmured, my voice trembling with emotion. "And I don't know if you'll wake up before..."
Tears welled up in my eyes, as if they were threatening to spill over. I blinked them back, determined to stay strong for Travis's sake. He needed my strength now more than ever...
"I love you," I finally said aloud, my voice breaking with raw honesty. "I love you, you idiot Travis! So please, please...Don't leave me yet!"
Silence enveloped the room, broken only by the soft sounds of the hospital equipment...
I waited, my heart in my throat, hoping far beyond hope that Travis would hear me, that somehow my words would reach him and bring him back to me.
Minutes passed like hours, each second stretching into eternity.
And then, a subtle shift—Travis's fingers twitched, a faint movement that sent a surge of hope through my veins.
"Travis?" I breathed, and leaned closer to him. "Can you hear me?"
There was no immediate response, but I could sense the change, stirring in the air around us. I clasped Travis's hand tighter, willing him to wake up, to come back to me and to hear the words I had finally found the courage to speak.
As I sat vigil by his side, I knew our journey was far from over. The echoes of unspoken words lingered in the room, a testament to love and hope that bound us together...
When suddenly I heard...
"I love you too...Katelyn..."
