Gangplank is brutal, ruthless and unpredictable. The only thing he hasn't stolen is his reputation as the king of plunderers. His only vocation is to enrich himself by plundering the sailors who have the misfortune to cross his path, but once the black sails of his ship have come into view, it's already too late.

There was a long, morbid silence, with only the sound of flames and damage overriding everything else.

"It's been a long time, Cores

" You piece of rubbish ( cough. ) "

"What did you expect? I warned you last time. You're on my waters, so everything you own, all your possessions, are mine now."

Guss struggled to his feet.

You have no right to his open waters! One of Gangplank's men punched him.

Erion looked at the scene on the ground, feeling powerless.

Cores looked around him, he was badly wounded, his right arm half shredded, his ears ringing from the deafening sound of the explosion, his men wounded, half of them dead, his ship in shambles, he had lost almost everything, then he turned back to Erion with a look of utter despondency.

"I'm... I'm sorry..."

Gangplank smiled again.

"Don't be sorry old man, you and your men are worth a lot more than the shit you found in the arsehole of the surrounding islands, think of it as a new trade."

Fuck you. ( coughs )

Gangplank approached Cores.

Hmm... I have to tell you, in this state you're not going to get me anything.

The king of raiders drew his greatsword and jabbed it into Cores' torso, who succumbed before the eyes of his men.

"No!"

"Captain!"

"I'll kill you, you bastard!"

Gangplank drew his sabre with a sharp blow that sent blood spurting down Erion's face. No words came out of the boy's mouth, his eyes were terrified, his vision was blurred, his ears were ringing, he had just witnessed the murder of his captain, his father figure as far as he was concerned.

"Go back to sea, old man.

He looked around, Erion saw Minur's body lying motionless, and then he saw the chest they had brought back, the chest was completely demolished, as if one of the cannonballs from the attack had gone straight into it.

A few metres from the destroyed chest, the boy saw a large sword, so it was a weapon that was locked in the chest, he wanted to grab it as if it were his last chance, he was burning with desire, as if it were calling him. Erion summoned up what little strength he had left and ran to grab it.

Gangplank grabbed his pistol, "my favourite prey are the ones who run", and fired into the boy's back, causing him to fall to the ground with his hand on the blade.

Guss looked away.  "Erion...oh no..."

"Throw his body into the sea, the fish are hungry! ordered the scourge of the seas to one of his men.

The pirate complied and went over to Erion to pull him off. Suddenly, thick black smoke billowed from the boy, and the man saw Erion's eyes open and turn a red like blood. "At last..." he said in a voice that was not at all the same, it seemed to belong to something else.

He grabbed the pirate by the throat and lifted him with one arm. They were all surprised, Guss, Ijak and a few Luckywolf survivors, Gangplank did not react. The dark smoke spread over the entire Luckywolf as it slowly sank, creating a truly morbid atmosphere. Suddenly, a cry of agony rang out and the thick cloud dissipated, Erion was still holding the pirate and the blade in his other hand, the man was all drained up, with only his flesh sticking to his bones, his head tilted to one side, he was dead. As for Erion, his wounds had all healed, but he still had that black look, he had changed, his friends no longer recognised him, he was as if possessed, a glowing eye appeared on the great sword.
