"Are you sure we should do it?" Marius asked his twin "of course we should, we didn't do this is years"
"that's exactly why we shouldn't do that" Marcus just shrugged getting closer to his friend's bed
"ready?" Marius nodded in response

"GOOD FUCKING MORNING YOU UNSTOPPABLE BEAST, THE WORLD IS YOUR FUCKING OYSTER AND IT'S TIME TO CRACK THAT BITCH OPEN, YOU'VE GOT THE POWER, THE DRIVE AND THE DETERMINATION TO-" Marcus put his hands on his knees to take a deep breath "those bitchy cigarettes" he took another deep breath and continued "TO MAKE TODAY FUCKING LEGENDARY"

Lilian instead of shouting at them just smiled,knowing that if those two were in her room Polly actually convinced her brothers to leave her alone.

The girl got out of bed after rushing the two boys out of her room and prepared her self for the day.
As every morning all the Shelbys were reunited in the kitchen to have breakfast
"look who's back from the dead" John mocked making his sister roll her eyes at him

"Oi do they always have to be here?" Arthur pointed at the two younger boys who were sitting besides Lilian "of course we do!" Marius began "we're Lily's best friends" finished Marcus, Arthur shook his head
continuing to eat.

Lilian noticed that not a single word had yet left Thomas' mouth, the man was just looking at them all with a stone expression, it seemed that it was going to be a really legendary day. She didn't expect the most warm 'welcome back' from her brother but at least a 'hello' wouldn't hurt him. So she went and sat down on purpose in front of her brother, curious on what he was going to do.

Everyone watched the interaction in silence, but as expected Tommy didn't say anything, he just kept looking at his sister making eye contact with her but breaking it soon after. The older man raised from his seat and went into the betting den followed by his brothers leaving a disappointed girl behind him.

Ada took matters into her own hand hoping to make the situation better. "You know we could maybe go out? just the two of us. We can spend some older-younger sister time?"
Lilian smiled at her nodding her head earning a smile for her sister and a whine from the twins.

The two of them refused to leave the house and continued complaining, because they 'wanted to spend time with their favorite Shelby as well' but immediately quietened down and ran out the door as soon as Polly threatened to beat them with the frying pan.

The two sisters walked the streets of Small Heath,
everyone was staring at them in disbelief, never had anyone seen the two of them without a blinder following them.

After passing by every shop and person the duo arrived at the cut. "This was your plan form the beginning Ada" Lilian threw her a knowing look
"just don't say anything to aunt Pol or Tommy"
she said making puppy eyes.
A figure appeared behind Ada, it wrapped its arms around her making the girl in question laugh.

Freddie Thorne was in front of her embracing her sister, he grinned at Lilian, remembering when
she'd usually play hide and seek with him and her brothers, even if they were 'too old' for it.
"Last time I saw you, you were crying to Polly 'cause you lost at hide and seek" the man giggled to himself
Lilian looked at him up and down "you better don't try anything stupid or next time be sure that we'll be playing hide n' seek again"
She didn't have anything against Freddie but warning him was necessary, right?

After half an hour Lils decided she had enough of waiting for her sister, so she dragged her out of Freddie's hand and with a goodbye the two girls made their way to their home.

"Ada?" Lilian asked "yes Lily?"
the girl looked at her sister suspiciously before answering "are you with child?"
there was a moment of silence before Ada stopped in her tracks "no.. no i'm not,why would you ask that?"
"just my sixth sense" Ada shook her head shocked,
she couldn't be pregnant, her family would've killed her, what would Freddie say? how was she supposed to raise a child alone with Freddie hiding?

Millions of thoughts ran through Ada's head, but as she entered her home she found all her family seated like they were waiting for her and her sister, but they weren't waiting for Ada.

"Lilian.." Arthur began unsure "we wanted to talk to you about..err, the things that you've been doing." he continued
"like what?" Lilian responded already knowing what the conversation was going to be about, Arthur couldn't find the words so John jumped in
"like how you drink and smoke everyday, how you go out and come back home at the sunrise. You were grounded just three days ago Lilian"

Well what was she supposed to do? it wasn't her fault if she didn't like being all perfect and composed
"I don't see the problem in doing it, I just want to live a little bit, it's not that big of a deal John! you can't keep me locked in forever!"
"yes we can" Thomas said "we will do that if you continue with this behaviour"

"I'm not a fucking puppy Thomas! I have my own life, just accept it." she began making her way to the stairs but Thomas grabbed her wrist
"you'll do as we say Lilian, can't you see that you're acting like a fucking whore?! all we've been doing since we came back is trying to protect you! we have more important things to do and you being like this doesn't help!" he shouted leaving everyone speechless

"Oh.." Lilian just said grinning a little "well can't you see that the reason i'm like this is you? I don't need to be protected by other people I need to be protected from 𝐲𝐨𝐮! before you went to war everything was ok, but France changed you, all of you! do you think that I want to be like this? do you even know why i'm like this? no! so don't come to me and act like the victim, I do not need you, I have my own important things to do, but I don't act like you do, i'm tired of you being like this. My only problem is you Tommy, the reasons why I behave like a whore is you! you made my life miserable since you came back, not John not Arthur nor every other person, just YOU" she took a deep breath looking at her brother in the eyes

"then leave" those two words hurt the girl but she didn't show it.
She stormed out of the house tears streaming down her face the only sound she could hear was the her name being shouted by Polly and Ada.

She walked through the alleys till her head collided onto someone's chest, Lilian didn't even look up or say anything she just continued walking but a voice made her stop "you know it's not nice to bump into someone and not say sorry"
"piss off" she rolled her eyes

She could hear the man's laugh and his footsteps approached her "why you crying miss?" he had an american accent "just some family shit"
he laughed once more, she looked up at him irritated
"if you need to laugh then go to a fucking circus"
the man looked at her before speaking
"I have an offer for you" he smiled
