The Human Shark (NBREADER)

Chapter 4

Robin's POV

The crew split up in small groups in search of both Camie and (Y/n), searching as far as we could. We all gathered up in front of the archipelago, which was the last place to search and where Hachi recommended us to look. We looked around the entire place looking for the fish people but we could never find them or any clues. We came back to the front and heard voices of men moving in and out of the side of the building. We walked over there and saw them carrying different cargo inside the archipelago by the side door. There was a paper nearby and it showed everything that they were selling and it was a lot but what quickly caught everyone's attention was when seeing the bottom of the paper that had mermaid on it but it was scratched out and was rewritten below it as; "Mermaid and Shark starting at $2000".

"For 2000!?" Nami says in shock as we all look at the paper.

"Why is it so high?" Chopper asks.

"We should head inside." Hachi says with clear urgency and slight panic. He had a big cloak on to not be seen by everyone else.

Everyone nods and we slip inside the Archipelago where Hachi's friends are. It seemed that the auction already started because most of the seats are filled with people. There was mostly nobles but a few pirate crews could be seen. We stood off to the side to not be seen as suspicious and watched as the auction started.

There was different people who were being sold and all of them looked..scared or tense almost. Different prices were being here and there, the people being auctioned crying and trying to fight back against the auction staff, which was futile. We didn't start bidding, saving the money for when Camie showed up.

After an hour, a pirate was pulled to the stage. He was tense and as the auctioneer was speaking information about him, the pirate suddenly collapsed and blood slowly oozed from his mouth. The curtains closed a moment after the pirate fell. This gave us a little break.

"So far, no Camie and no (Y/n).." Hachi spoke, his voice tense while his gaze was down slightly.

"Don't worry Hachi, I'm sure we'll find them soon." Nami replies, trying to reassure Hachi.

The reassurance worked somewhat but Hachi was clearly still tense about everything that's been going on, including the fact that Hachi was hiding himself under a cloak. By now, the surrounding area was tense after that collapsing pirate but a moment later, the auctioneer comes back, stepping out from behind the curtains.

"Alright everyone, apologies for the delay and thank you for being patient with us." The auctioneer says. "In thanks for being patient with us, we'll skip straight to the more appealing part of the auction."

The auctioneer snaps his finger and his henchmen rolls a mysterious container. It's clear that everyone was interested as curious whispers and other noises slowly spreads through the building. Out of peripheral view, a faint blue light glows, coming from Sanji who immediately noticed it as well as some of us turned to look at him.

"Why is your chest glowing..?" Chopper asks nervously but mostly curious.

"I-Is it a bomb!?" Usopp whispered in a panic as he hid behind Nami.

"Idiot. If it was a bomb, it wouldn't just now go off. Especially in a crowded building." Nami spoke as she pushed him from behind her.

Sanji reaches in his suit and pulls up a necklace. The blue gem in the middle glowing brightly, thankfully not attracting the attention from the civilians. The necklace is usually hidden in Sanji's suit, there's times where it's visible but it never glowed like this.

"Why is your necklace glowing?" I asked him.

Sanji is silent but wraps a hand around the necklace, hiding the glow as he looks forward, so did the rest of us who noticed the glow.
