hyejin smiled softly as her mother helped her put on the chanel hairpin she had brought for her.

"oh, the loves of my life are spending time with each other without me?" her father said in a sulking voice.

chairman seo, always the hardworking man, had just returned home after spending a few days at the office.

he greeted them both with a kiss on the cheek and sat beside his daughter. "seungjae has already finished his schoolwork. he'll be coming home soon," he said

hyejin only nodded. their parents didn't know that they had fought, and seungjae had not mentioned anything about hyejin to them.

her mother stared at the jooshin necktie, shaking her head and sipping her tea. "i really hate jooshin's discrimination against the poor. really? scholarship students having a different tie?" she put down her teacup with a clink. "not surprised. chairman an always thinks so highly of herself. she always forgets that she will always be under me."

chairman seo chuckled, reaching for a pastry on the table, "that's harsh, sweetie."

"it's the truth," her mother replied firmly.

"i should go, mom and dad," hyejin said as she grabbed her bag and kissed both of her parents on the cheeks. she turned and made her way to the door, her footsteps echoing through the grand hallway of the mansion.

outside, the family driver stood waiting beside the sleek black car. he opened the door for her with a respectful bow. "good morning, miss hyejin," he greeted.

hyejin returned his smile warmly. "good morning," she replied, bowing slightly before sliding into the backseat.

CONFUSION was all over hyejin's face when she got out of their family car, her eyes glued to two figures—kang-ha and jae-i.

she stopped in front of jae-i, sarcastically laughing and shaking her head before walking past them.

"so fucking ridiculous," she murmured, heading off to get ready for their special classes.

hyejin arrived at the classroom and was surprised to see that woojin was already there. she didn't acknowledge him and took her seat beside him. woojin glanced at her, cleared his throat, and sat up properly, stealing glances at her until ri-an entered.

hyejin ignored them all, focusing on her ipad and doing advanced reading for their lesson. she raised her head when hera greeted, "good morning, friends," she greeted and took a seat beside ri-an.
